The 8th instalment of 'The Fast and the Furious' franchise is The Fast and The Furious, also known as The Fate of The Furious. This film is set to release on April 14 this year. Fans, fanboys and general film enthusiasts are gushing over the trailer, which set records when it was released. The same went for the motion poster as well. A lot has been said about the pros and cons of the upcoming films and it has to live up to the standards of the previous film, The Fast and The Furious 7, which earned over $1.5 billion worldwide. We discuss some members of the cast of Fast and Furious 8 which is quite clearly, the strongest suit of the film. The change in directors is also sensible.
Vin Diesel: This man simply does not give up. Keep in mind his record-breaking voice acting role we saw in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. That movie is also set to have a sequel this year. Between the last Fast and Furious movie in 2015 and the upcoming sequel, the actor has matured a lot. His action films used to be his strongest roles and we had forgotten of his sensible cameo in the 1998 film, Saving Private Ryan. We expect the actor to be menacing in this film. His baritone, his style of diction and his swaggering attitude will enrich the film.
Dwayne Johnson: This wrestler-turned-actor will look to further cement his position in Hollywood, an industry that has welcomed him with open arms. Rarely have we seen a more dedicated actor. He does not always rely on his physique to swim through roles: he has a certain charm under the tough exterior as well. He plays a Diplomatic Security agent in the film, making his role a rather politically correct one. Expect fireworks from 'The Rock'.
Jason Statham: He is primarily known as the Transporter, the original trilogy which made him famous. However, merely labelling him an action hero will be unjust. We saw a different side of the actor in Guy Ritchie's 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' in 1998. He has an uncanny ability to mouth one-liners and is witty as well. Expect him to be the eye-catcher of the film.
Kurt Russell: Nothing can be said of this man that has not already been said. He is famous for his portrayal of Snake Plissken in the 1981 film,Escape From New York. His role will continue as Mr Nobody. He will bring gravitas and charm to the role.
Helen Mirren: The Oscar winner will portray an as-yet-undisclosed role. Dame Mirren is the epitome of grace and dignity. While she has not been seen in such films for some time now, her turn in the film 'Red' will provide some foil for comparison.
Charlize Theron: The other Oscar winner for the movie 'Monster' in 2000. She turned a stunning new page in that role and we expect the leggy blonde to rock the role here as well.
Lastly, the director. F. Gary Gray has helmed such movies as Straight Outta Compton and The Negotiator. His film-making skills are not limited to action cinema only. Besides, he is also a music video director and an actor. The new film will only be enriched by his participation.
