You TV Player is a video player and streaming service for Android, iOS and Windows. Any video saved on the device can be played by clicking ‘My device’ on the left. The app also has other features like multiple language interface, password protection of files, watching HD shows without buffering or streaming and other features. It works only on Android version 3 and above and Windows XP and above. Let us have a look at alternatives.

Vidmate

This is a free application that lets users watch their TV show episodes as well as movies and other content without interruption. It, more or less has the same advantages as You TV player but works differently. For “downloading” videos on Vidmate, you need copy the URL or open Vidmate app and find the video of your choice. Then you’ll have to go on to click the round button on the right hand corner of the Vidmate app. Next you’ll be given options to choose configurations so that you can down load the video quality as per your needs. You can even “Save the Videos” for later use with the “Private Space” option. Once you tap on it, you’ll see a option popping out, asking for a “password”. Pen a password and write it down if you suffer from a forgetful mind. And now to play the video without leaving the app, go to the Download tab, and tap on the video you want to play.

TubeMate

Tubemate is a bit different from You TV player, in the sense that it’s a YouTube Downloader. It’s easy to use and works like a charm on Android handsets. We have used several YouTube downloader and this one truly stands out. Most of the one’s we have tried before either didn’t work or froze our machine. Not TubeMate though. Like SnapTube, TubeMate is not on Google Play due to Google’s Policy which prohibits YouTube downloading apps for copyright concern. To get the app on your handset, you need to go to the official TubeMate site. Out of the five verified sites, you can download the APK file from any one. In case one link doesn’t work, you go ahead and try the next one. Once the download is complete, app will install automatically and ready to be used.

ShowBox

ShowBox is another great app that comes for free. Gone are the days when you had to stream bad quality videos. With ShowBox you HD prints of latest movies are available right at your fingertips. The app offers popular nationals and international shows at no cost. Moreover, it lets you watch videos stored in your device as well as protect your files by using a password. The app is also very customizable and adjustable to the user’s needs.

PlayBox

This particular app allows users to stream movies, TV series, cartoon, trailers, music videos and other things absolutely free of cost. The app had been providing great service to users for a long time but the link to the app from the official Site went down in the year 2015. After several days of complaint, the links were back up. There are no hidden charges and no extra subscription required. The process of downloading and installing the app is fairly easy. Simply open the link and follow the instructions carefully. It’s worth mentioning that the instruction on this one is long.

Popcorn Time

It’s a free alternative for to subscription-based video streaming services like Netflix. It’s a multi-platform BitTorrent client uses sequential downloading to stream video listed by several torrent websites. Besides these other trackers can be added and can be used manually.
