Deodorize Your Indoor Trash cans

Many of the bad smells in your house come from indoor trash cans. Trash cans can go days without being emptied and can cause quite a bad scent that carries throughout your house. The best and natural way to combat this scent is to create mini deodorizers and place in the bottom of the can, below the plastic bag. You place baking soda mixed with essential oils in a small container with a mesh top and place in the bottom of the trash can and watch the bad smells go away.

Clean Carpets using Essential Oils

A great way to eliminate odors is to mix baking soda with essential oils and clean your carpets. Grab a mason jar and cut holes in the top to create a container that you can shake the elements out of. You will mix the baking soda with an essential oil of your preference, ours was lavender. Pour the mixture on the carpet and let settle for 30 minutes before vacuuming it all up. This mixes the deodorizing elements into the carpet without damaging the carpet. Once it is vacuumed up, you won’t have any residue left over.

Scrub Sink with Lemon Essential Oil

Your kitchen sink takes a beating and a lot of food and liquids find their way into the sink. It is a good idea to clean your sink regularly. Once you finish scrubbing the sink with soap, you can leave behind a great clean scent with lemon essential oils. Use your cleaning scrub and pour 10 drops of lemon essential oil on the scrubber and scrub the sink. This leaves behind a nice clean lemon scent, even after you use the sink again.

Dry Your Towels with Essential Oils

Bath towels are used very often and often overlooked as an opportunity to enjoy a great scent. You can dry your towels mixed with essential oils to leave the towels with a fresh lavender scent. This goes a long way with a fresh towel that smells like lavender after your shower or bath. You can accomplish this by taking a hand towel and pour 20 drops of lavender essential oil on the wet hand towel and throw in the dryer with the towels.

Add Essential Oils to Household Cleaners

To help your house smell clean, use essential oils in your daily household cleaners to leave behind fresh scents after your clean your house. It is always best to use a natural cleaner and mix in the essential oils.
