School is very important, but it is not the only place where children can learn. Children can be also adequately equipped with useful-life skills outside school.

Children do not need to be in close proximity to book bags, notebooks, pop quizzes and whiteboards to learn. True learning is not just about memorizing content in class such as maths and history facts. Learning is lifelong interactive process of discussing, questioning and looking for applications of knowledge and new meaning in every situation as possible. Children should be exposed to many meaningful life experiences as possible. This can broaden their knowledge, cultivate awareness which cannot be got from textbook, and improve early childhood education. The following are seven ways of improving childhood education outside the classroom.

Have Some Faith

    Religious families should involve their children in religious activities such as retreats, fellowships, classes, and youth groups. Children will learn spiritual and religious concepts as well historical context of faith.

    Young children should be allowed to also access internet. They should be allowed to browse social media such as Facebook and Instagram and websites so that they can access information and satisfy their curiosity instantly. Through this, they can answer questions in their lives and access credible information. The adults should ensure the information the children are accessing are current, accurate, and reputable.

    Get a Dose of Culture

    Children should be exposed to many social and artistic events as possible. Zoos, museums, and cultural events such as ballets, concerts, operas, and plays are great way of teaching and entertaining children. Such adventures are more exciting than when the children are just sited in classroom. Moreover, they can broaden their knowledge and possibly excite lifelong hobbies and interests.

    Embracing everyday practical education is another factor. Having everyday activities outside classroom can open door to fascinating new lessons. Children should be made have practical applications of various subjects they are taught in class. For example, baking a batch of cookies can demonstrate the practical applications of science, math and nutrition.

    Utilizing Public Library

    Libraries are useful resources that provide public aces to a collection of books and archives. They are hubs of information which on important topics which can be shared with the children. Helpful professionals are available to guide and encourage children’s quest for knowledge. Moreover, children should explore the world at every opportunity. Parents should travel with their kids during family trips or vacation. Through this, children can learn much about the world. Parents should teach children about geography, history, and diversity of customs, traditions, and traditions.

Challenging the Existence of Various Phenomena in the Universe

Furthermore, children should be also at the forefront at challenging the existence of various phenomena in the universe. They can accompany their parents to their place of work so as to learn a few things while on the way or in the office. While on the way to the office, a conversation on issues such as commerce and industry can spark. Also, looking at the sky at night can infuse questions about celestial bodies in the universe. This if the effective way the children can embrace and quench the natural curiosity outside classroom.
