The Top 5 Riding Boots of Summer 2016

by Cormac (writer), , July 01, 2016

Riding boots are very in right now and these are five of the best for 2016 - take a look.

Taking things a little further, I’ve entered our beautiful horses into several dressage competitions and I plan to open up a small riding school not far from where we live. It’ll be a brilliant opportunity to share our passion with young ones eager to learn the art of equestrianism! There’s nothing better than bringing out Ode Bessie, saddling up and riding on through the glorious sunsets. My summer last year consisted of nothing more than down time with my husband and our two mares - we rode through the English countryside and absorbed mother nature in her most fantastic form. We trotted through rivers and lay basking in the (sometimes there) English sunshine with picnics and plenty of giggles. Despite my spontaneous attacks of hay fever, it really was a fantastic summer.

With this upcoming endeavor, I’ve had to go on the hunt for some new riding boots as I’ve had mine for about 7 years now and they’re falling to pieces! I bought these trusty knee high leathers from a local market stand and they’ve been the dream until now; although, as a naturally clumsy person I can’t blame them for not being able to withstand my calamities anymore!

Because hunting for the right boots can seem a bit daunting, I’ve put together a Top 5 list of boutique and high street branded boots on the net, to help ease my into the process and help to advise/inspire the rest of you who may be embarking on a similar hunt!

1.The Spanish Boot Company

These Spanish riding boots are my absolute favourite! Available in black or tan real leather, these knee highs are the stylish equestrians dream. With a good-year welted rubber sole and lined with authentic Spanish leather from the illustrious town of Valverde del Camino in Southern Spain, they’re guaranteed quality.

This specific pair are in fact unisex! And with a gorgeous zip tassel detail that you can cut down to your desired length. Comfortable and stylish…

3. Ralph Lauren

The Ralph Lauren leather McLeod boots have a handmade sole featuring a stacked heel outsole which gives a great lift! Inevitably, the designer creates all his footwear with flare and so the upper is made of suede and has a buckle detail for extra touch. The rounded toe slides easily into stirrups making them ideal for riding!

4. Timberland

These real leather, rubber soled, knee-high riding boots from Timbaland come in three gorgeous shades with contrast stitching! These are ideal for the summer months in light tan with their interwoven suede back shaft and ankle strap. They feature a gusseted panel at the top shaft with a buckle and adjustable strap.

If you’re after luxury whatever the cost, then ride your way into the refinement that is Burberry and their House check panel boots. Featuring their iconic print and distinctive buckle, these babies are not only aesthetically classy but practical with their rubber grip sole and almond-shaped toe.
