Specifically blue light especially with the amount of exposure we suffer from everyday checking E-mails, Facebook and all the other tasks that keep us constantly looking at our screen. It is very easy and inexpensive to protect your eyes from this light. You can purchase a blue light filter for iPhone, or for any other hand held or desktop screen you choose. The thin filters also protect your screens from scratches, which is an added bonus.

Blue light is damaging to your eye because it is on the high end of the energy spectrum, which basically means that they are hot. These are similar to the ultraviolet radiation of the sun, which we are always trying to protect our eyes and skin from. Too much exposure to this high-energy blue light essentially causes a burning of the sensitive eye tissues with extensive exposure. This eye damage can lead to a decrease in vision and eventually a permanent degeneration of vision that is not repairable.

If you already have sensitive eyes, wear corrective eye wear of any kind of have had surgeries to your eyes for any condition, it is even more important that you use a blue light filter for iPhone or other devices. Be sure to add one to all of the devices you use regularly to achieve the most protection. We only get one set of eyes and vision is a very fragile sense. Why take chances that are unnecessary with your health. The amount of time we spend online is only increasing as the technological capabilities of our devices expands our worlds. The blue light damage is accumulated over time, and depends on other sources of exposure as well, such as whether you are getting too much light UV Light exposure from the sun, this is much stronger than the blue light of your tech devices, but you stare at your tech devices for many hours more per day than you do the sun.

To protect your vision be sure that every device you use is fitted with Blue light protection. Also avoid spending unnecessary time staring at computer screens. As with many other things in life moderation is much better for you in the long run. Since damage is cumulative overtime and cannot be undone it is important to think about protecting your eyes and your vision early. Taking simple steps that are comparable to wearing sunscreen when you go outside can protect you from the damaging energy of blue light. Even when a filter is in place, you will still be getting some exposure, so it is also important to monitor the length of time you spend.

If you have ever noticed that your eyes get tired and begin to burn when you have been working too long at the computer you have experienced the warning signs that a blue light filter is necessary.
