A Band for All Seasons

by Aggie (writer), November 05, 2007

If you think it’s safe to turn on your radio, think again. The Christmas ads and jingles are startin’. Oh, they’re subtle, but they’re out there. As much as I love Christmas, I truly don’t want to be thinking about it as I’m slipping on my Halloween goblin stockings.
My reaction is predictable. I simply take command by listening to the music of my choice via cd, ipod, whatever. My respite is and has always been a great cd of cool and innovative music-- music that makes me want to tap my feet rather than the head of my youngest who has “lipped and pilled” his milk for the 100th time. To me the mark of a great cd is one that I want to hear again, and again, and again. And, by chance, I stumbled onto just such a cd, and I can’t let you go another day without introducing them to the Westside. “Release” is a four-member Rock Band taking Colorado by storm. Listen to what 100.3 Rock radio of Denver has to say.
Release: Press
I’m already practicing my new mantra: It goes something like, “Yeah, well I played Release BEFORE they sold their first million.” Radio geeks like to brag when we discover gold, you know? Dom Testa - The Dom & Jane Show, Mix 100.3 FM Denver (May 10, 2007)

This is not a cd you'll find yourself saying, "been there, done that". The style is a mix of genres fresh and new in the industry of music today--and brought to us by obviously talented musicians who have done their homework and know their art. These boys are innovative-- bringing a multiplicity of styles into their music making. “Who do they sound like”, you ask? You’ll have to listen for yourself. Like any true piece of art, the viewer/listener walks away with an interpretation all their own. This four-member band from all parts of the world has joined to form a concentrated collaboration of vocals and instrumentation, creating a unique and powerful combination of rock & pop. They have spent the last year recording their debut studio project which was "released" in October of 2007. Although I wasn’t the first in line for their new cd, I certainly won’t be the last.
I know their cd is going to make it into many a holiday stocking. (sorry I just couldn’t resist. )
