Musings Of A Poet

by Barbara MacDonald (writer), CANADA , January 03, 2016

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. Khalil Gibran
watch the video

It's wonderful to be loved, but it is PROFOUND to be understood." Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves." Carl Jung

I have grown weary of the shallowness of life

Feeling instead on such a deep level, that I question

Does anyone else inhale LIFE

Searching always for a higher place

A place blessed by empathy and compassion

Relinquishing bitterness and judgement

Instead, embracing another 's imperfect humanity

Holding them with understanding and forgiveness.

I exist in my own self-created world

Given birth to with many tears and joys

In equal measure, this has been my life

Lessons bestowed through fire and grace.

The triviality and egoistic existence

Brings tears of sadness to my soul

Because I know we are so much better

Created in God's likeness.

How do we get lost, lose our benevolence

I want to live heaven on earth

Rather than carry burdens of hurt and anger

Even if I walk this path alone.

This has burned my own heart at times

Watching the ashes blown into the wind

Like an innocent child being punished

For what they will never understand.

I know Rigina, when it takes a week for legite comments to appear it is upsetting, and it is killing the site slowly. Surely there must be a better way to address the spammers and floggers. Also taking away ratings if you do not post in a period of time is not a fair way to be treated. You earned those points, so how is that fair to do? Thank you my friend for the comment, you have a great new year too...:>)
