Video games have the power to influence education and transform it completely.

They make education a fun and engaging activity that the students can enjoy and learn simultaneously. They are, or have already become, the future of education.

To ensure its complete implementation, parents and teachers need to overcome their fear of the hype that gaming might as well ruin their children in some way or the other. Schools may adopt iPads to teach the elementary school children but little do they know about its impact in reality. When home, the same teachers push their children away from digital distractions like the one they teach from. Why? It is mainly due to the fear of addiction to the particular games or ruining the overall schedule or so many other reasons why – the fear of unknown, as well as calculative worries, haunts them!

Since the day video games became a part of the curriculum, the classes became a lot more meaningful for the students. Math, for instance, comes to them as nothing but a game. In reality, however, they are learning a great deal out of it. Give your child an educational fun app and see if he can do wonders with it within no time.

An experiment was conducted upon a group of doctors in Florida hospital. One group was taught under the usual circumstances, in a typical classroom setting. The other group played video games where they learned everything from surgery wounds to what not in order to complete their course. The results were outstanding for the latter group!

It was hence made a point to remember that games can verily improve your reflexes greatly for situations that demand instant decision-making. Since a particular person becomes involved in the game, they master the acts through that game, implements strategies and works up his/her imagination to get there. Amazing!

Minecraft is yet another example of a video game that has so much to offer in terms of imagination. Build structures out of the cubes provided and see how it opens your mind to a new world of imagination. MinecraftEdu was developed as a version of the same that came into being particularly for the purpose of promoting education via a gaming platform. There are so many developers out there who are creating an education app for kids as we sit here and read about it.

Today, there are so many learning apps for kids available on Android Play Store or Apple iTunes Store that are built solely for educational purposes. The era of video games becoming the new educational platform is here – brace yourselves!
