A documentary of a man in Hollywood('the outskirts of Hollywood') A single camera follows his every move... How he stays in shape... His point of view of today's Hollywood. And many more situations that we take for granted.
The film is thought provoking and comical. It has all the elements in a film to take the audience on a personal journey. You can relate to him... Share his pain or even share a tear... He's just one face of many faces of America who's trying to stand out.
THE FACE OF AMERICA(crew) Duffau Productions is based in Los Angeles, Ca. This is the first project by this start up company and once the marketing stratagy for this film falls into place we have more scripts ready to be filmed. The crew consist of two hard working individuals. Mike Duffau, founder of D.P. and Cesar O. Hernandez, business partner. It's a two man crew for the time being but once this production company grows we will need more crew members. Please be in support of this film and have an open mind and tell us what you think. The film is currently being submitted to film festivals and I hope you get a chance to see it (if it makes it for consideration) and be entertained.
This is my first adventure as a film-maker. It was hard work and at the same time it was a learning experience. Even for a two person crew.
Don't expect to see a world class product because the budget was only $250.00 which was the cost to edit. It is what it is... I didn't have the luxury or the finacial ability to pay for a full production crew. So one camera was all that we could get our hands on.
We didn't have any permits to film at any locations. So the best thing to do was sneak in the camera and get the shot in one take. If we were lucky, we'd get two.
The lighting was not the greatest because we didn't have much light to work with. The editor did the best that he could to brighten the dark patches, and with all his resources it's still dark in some areas.
By just watching the trailor is not enough. I tried to get some of the comical moments to grab the audience's attention. The average person will think that it's just silly and not worth while. It has a message! The actual running time is 44 minutes.
I like to add that this is my directorial debut. I also wrote, produced, and starred in it as well. Cesar did a fine job as the cinematographer and helped with the direction. The production started on December 4th 2006 and post production ended around June 2007.
'The story' is the real factor here. It's not about the quality of a film or the budget or whatever bells and whistles added to hype the image on screen. It's the work of passion. It's the work of dedication. It's the heart and soul of the story that motivates us to move forward, and to change your life some how for the better. Somebody else's story can humble another, and maybe... Just maybe I can do that.
