It's Latin Grammy® season. The world is waiting for the big announcement regarding the nominees, performers and parties, but there's more important news. Music fans everywhere can make this the year that they attend this spectacular award show. You don't have to win a sweepstakes or eat insects in some sadistic reality show-style contest. You can buy tickets on line with passes to the green carpet and the posh post-show party. Everyone's invited, except Donald Trump. Someone should lock him in his golden bathroom, so that the rest of the world can have a good time celebrating Latin music.
And a good time will be had at the 16th annual Latin Grammys® Awards, which is taking place Thursday, November 19, 2015, at everyone's favorite venue, the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the heart of Las Vegas. Billed as the "Biggest Night in Latin Music®", this red-hot award show celebrates musical talent in 48 categories from Folk to Flamenco, Brazilian Roots and Latin Jazz. Artists and performers from dozens of Latin-speaking countries will be honored with nominations and golden gramophones. Shakira, Juan Luis Guerra, Jesse & Joy, Juanes, Calle 13 and our favorite stars have all gone home cradling armsful of precious trophies.
This year, the nominees will be revealed on Twitter, Facebook and sites in the Latin Grammy® Social Hub. The first names will be dropped on the evening of September 23, so be on the look out for posts marked #LatinGrammy. Expect great performances from top artists and secret special guests. There will be three hours of awesomeness broadcast live from fabulous Las Vegas. Seriously, the Latin Grammys® are the best thing to air on Univision since "Sábado Gigante."
Of course, you've been looking forward to this year's award show since last year, but now you can get even more excited. You don't even have to wait for November. You can purchase your tickets now and tune in to the various pre-show festivities that are happening across the country starting in October.
As usual, there will be Latin Grammy® street parties in Los Angeles, Dallas and Miami. Latin Grammy® Acoustic Sessions featuring new stars and old favorites will go down in New York, Dallas and Miami as well. Big names performing at these events include Victor Manuelle, Pablo Alboran, Sofia Reyes, Natalia Lafourcade, Julieta Venegas, Diego Torres and Sie7e. All of the fun leads up to the biggest award show in Latin entertainment.
