INNOCENCE OF CHILD

by Uttam Gill (writer), BOMBAY(MUMBAI), September 19, 2015

No matter what your age is, I suggest always keep the innocence of child in you…Child in you is an asset, preserve it...

Why so easily we barter our innocence with the dictates of life. Fill your mind with all those innocent queries by which you tried to decipher life. Yes try out and inhale the bygone time…from the fallen times retrieve yourself…you are lost somewhere…I know you have drifted and I see the delusion. You may not accept it but I know so truly you wish to be with that lost childhood of yours…Why can’t grown up behave life a child…why is that over him/her age is imposed with dictatorial dictions of life…Somebody has taken over you…there now in , an imposter resides. Why is that you don’t chill out in exuberance…You may pretend that you have not lost anything…you may deny and even refuse to listen to your own voice…You have decided not to reach out to child in you…Your matter of existence has come to stand still…you have been robbed off with your sheen by which you always rejoiced your existence…you have been castrated for not to live again with same innocence…with same jubilation…with same laughter…with same joy…yes you are confined now to enact with ceremonial and regimental way…nothing is left which is so natural…All that, what you were once has now turned into a matter of non existence…You hold no identity…faceless with no soul you are existing in a cocoon…Come out from that and reinvent yourself…Matters of innocence cannot be dissolved…that is immortal…Enough of all with invasive infringements in your life…Awaken to your tender soul…Rise and see you have life which is still so beautiful…so giving…so stimulating…so tantalizing…wake up with a song on your lips…It is high time, now you refuse to yield to unjust dictates of life…
If, what I have said till now is not the truth, then I have no reason for them who are contented with the loss…It would be a contempt on my part to tickle the issue further with them. However, those who still somewhere get in chord with me and would like to regain the child in them, I say to them, it is not difficult to find yourself…just reel back your mind and from the memories extract yourself…your childhood…inhale… and see the magic
Some may say, it is not easy…it may not be, I agree but one must try…Trying itself would stimulate your mind, body and soul…Accept the fact that you can make a life much better once you regain the innocence of child in you…So powerful is this innocence that all aberrations of your life will vanish…Smile and say to yourself, that you can do it…Once you behold within yourself a child and now you let child be free to hold you. The magic begins thereafter and in your recreation you sparkle…
No matter what your age is, I suggest always keep the innocence of child in you…Child in you is an asset, preserve it.

I wonder how many times we have talked on this...and yes, we both agree that to give up the innocence of a child is in many ways giving up your own soul. I refuse to live by what society dictates ....rather I follow my heart and soul, and do not allow anyones judgement to impel how I live my life. This quote very much expresses how I see life....

Children will draw pictures with everything in them...houses and trees and people and animals...and the sun AND the moon. Grown-up says, "That's a nice picture, Honey, but you put the moon and the sun in the sky at the same time and that isn't right." But the child is right! The sun and moon are in the sky at the same time.

R. Buckminster Fuller (1895 - 1983)

Beautifully written Uttam, thanks for the inspiration, as always.

But the adult is not the highest stage of development. The end of the cycle is that of the independent, clear-minded, all-seeing Child. That is the level known as wisdom. When the Tao te Ching and other wise books say things like, "Return to the beginning; become a child again" that's what they are referring to. Why do the enlightened seem filled with light and happiness like children? Why do they sometimes even look and talk like children? Because they are. The wise are Children Who Know. Their minds have been emptied of the countless minute somethings of small learning and filled with the great wisdom of the Great Nothing, the Way of the Universe.
