Survival was the main aim of hunting for millennia. However, the development of farming and domesticating animals since the Stone Age, the situation has changed significantly. Namely, hunting has become a sport, a popular recreational activity, and a major source of income for some of the countries rich in game.
Hunting different game depends on the climate you are willing to change in order to get it, so for example, if you want to hunt in brutal weather conditions, you are probably going to be in need of warmer hunting clothing, all depending on the conditions you are supposed to hunt in.

Warm climate: Tanzania, Africa
This East African country has a lot of things to offer on its menu. Being a country in the African Great Lakes region, it contains 17 national parks (which are part of the wetlands of Tanzania) and they cover the area of about 42,000 square kilometres (which is about 38 per cent of the country’s territory). Its wildlife includes mainly mammal population which puts Tanzania on the pedestal and gives it the epithet of being “the prime game viewing country”. They include zebra, crocodile, waterbuck, hippopotamus, common warthog, elephant, sitatunga and waterbirds, such as ducks and flamingos.
Still at the driest continent on Earth, we now present you South Africa. This destination is for hunters who want something extra, some luxury while on a hunt. Since it is at the south of Africa, this great position makes it at the bellybutton of the Earth, and a preferred place for hunting. It has twenty-two national parks, which cover the area of about 37,000 square kilometres of land (which is about 4% of South African mainland). Numerous game includes nyala, white rhino, gnu, buffaloes, elephant, lions and suni.
Mediterranean climate: Montenegro
If you prefer the Mediterranean climate and less extreme weather conditions, then Montenegro is your best choice. This small Southeastern European country is blooming in untouched, beautiful landscapes and almost unique wildlife. Duck, quail, and turtle-dove are only some of the bird species you can hunt there, whereas bear, rabbits, wild boar and wolves are also allowed to be hunted. Popular hunting grounds in Montenegro include the Durmitor mountain, lake Skadarsko, Bjelopavlovi?ka valley, as well as Ulcinj and Crmnica hunting grounds.
Cold climate: Canada
If you are aiming to hunt big game or fish in a colder climate, Canada is your destination. Divided among the country’s thirteen provinces, its thirty-seven national parks and eight reserves, with a few national parks still underway establishing themselves. You can go to a fishing expedition to Yukon, or have an extremely exciting seal and Arctic fox night hunting expedition for which you are probably going to need night vision goggles and other hunting equipment for extremely cold weather conditions. You can head to Ontario if you are interested in hunting big game such as deer and waterfowl, and if you are interested in Beluga whale, head north to upper Quebec.
As you can see, it all comes down to this: you versus the nature. There is a plethora of great hunting destinations and it is up to you to decide which way to go. Be it big game, small game, warm climate or cold, you name it. All you need is good equipment, some skill and a lot of patience and passion for hunting.
