We will face them with death.

The Hamas and Fatah conflict in Israel's territory, the Gaza Strip, continues along the West Bank.

Israel has recently declared the Hamas-led Palestinian government, considered by U.S. and the European Union to be terrorist, an "enemy entity (NYTimes.com, September 2007)".

Hamas has taken this as a declaration of war: "We will not surrender and we will fight together with our people (NYTimes.com)."

Although Jihad groups in Gaza claim responsibility for rocket attacks made on Israeli army bases, Israel holds Hamas accountable for not the preventing attacks.

The Islamic Jihad have responded to the increased stronghold on Gaza by Israel: "We have God at our side and God is greather than Israel and America (NYTimes.com)."

"We will face them with death (NY Times.com)."

Because of the divided front in Gaza, many citizens of the territory are for the union of the disputing Hamas and Fatah groups, as well as Islamic Jihad and Popular Resistance Committees.

Gazan citizens consider an Israeli raid onto the Gaza Strip to be a chance for "Hamas and Fatah brothers" to fight against the "Zionist enemy" (NYTimes.com). The hope is to stop or stalemate internal conflicts within the internationally-recognized state of Israel.

The United States earlier this month urged Israel to facilitate a large-scale military involvement, fearing that Hamas would new momentum with Palestinian peace (USAToday.com, September 2007). Israel delayed, for a large-scale offensive would cause heavy casualities on both sides (NYTimes.com, September 2007).

Since the rocket attacks began, Hamas has been strengthening it's military in preparation for an Israeli attack (USAToday.com, September 2007).

Bear in mind the obvious religious implications of the involvements, primarily with in Hamas and Jihad groups, while Fatah is largely a politically-focused group.

The union on the Gaza Strip will direct attention to not only Israel, but the United States and Middle East conflicts as well.

An opened war front on Israel will invite further attack from surrounding territories, an already heavily disputed area of great religious importance. Occupation of this territory is seen as a Godly right, and represents the Jihad belief "God is on our side".

Geographic considerations aside, from a political perspective, it is the whole in which everything falls into.

Data collected from USAToday.com, and The New York Times.

Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. (Zechariah 12:2, 3 KJV)
