Series - We The People - 9/15 Peace Protest #16

by Rose Mountain (writer), , September 15, 2007

Across our nation We The People want to stop this war, on Saturday 9/15/07 over 500 nationwide grassroots groups are descending on Washington DC to demand an end to the illegal and immoral invasion of Iraq, and to demand impeachment of Bush and Cheney. The Iraq Veterans Against The War will begin the protest with a "die-in". People from many states will come on buses together, others will fly, many groups will protest in their hometowns too. We The People must change the direction of our country, the world is waiting, the time is now. To join an event, below are a few groups websites for Sept 15, plus an article by the Washington Post who attended the National Press event by A.N.S.W.E.R. the group hosting the rally, with Iraq Veterans Against The War, Cindy Sheehan and GoldStar. Families For Peace, etc.

The host of the massive protest is the nationwide group A.N.S.W.E.R., ACT NOW to STOP WAR & END RACISM, March in Washington DC on Sept 15, 12am to 11:59pm, Info at March for Peace Through Impeachment at Capitol Hill. "Impeachment now is imperative. If, We the People fail to force accountability for these crimes this fall, President Bush will have a free ride with impunity through the Presidential election year of 2008, when the Constitutional duty to impeach will succumb to political pressure, to the end of his second term in January 2009. The impeachment of Bush, Cheney and the other civil officers of the United States is not merely the best way to bring our troops home from Iraq and prevent new aggressions, it is the sure way and the only way. President Bush, who assaults nations in the name of democracy has proclaimed himself the one man “decider” for the fate of our country and its victims."

The current official bill for impeachment is Congressman Kucinich's House Resolution HR 333, call your Congressperson to support it, but it only names Cheney, with a promise for Bush later, a compromise that is not acceptable or lawful, so ask your Congressperson to author a bill to impeach both Bush & Cheney. The previous bill was written by Congressman Conyers Ranking Majority Member of the Judicial Committee, where impeachment begins, his report "Constitution in Crisis" was published in 2006 as the book "George W. Bush versus The U.S. Constitution". The Articles of Impeachment in this book don't include evidence for the most recent High Crimes and criminal acts. The Center for Constitutional Rights has a book of Articles of Impeachment, as do other social justice groups. For archives of all Iraq documents and evidence to impeach see

The evidence to impeach is massive in quantity, shocking in content, and covers diverse areas of Bush Admin policies, secret criminal actions, and intentional deceptions, so although this Series of Articles #1-#15 provide much evidence and key documents they're only a tip of the iceburg. Articles #1-#15 provide documents and evidence from US & UK high-level whistleblowers, US & UK leaked documents, US & UK investigative journalists, Congressional Hearings, etc with links & websites to do your own research. Articles #1-#15 can be found in the Political Section of the San Francisco & National papers, but not all articles are currently showing, so click on an article then scroll down until you see links on right side to other articles.(They only show 4 article links at a time, so keep clicking links if article you want isn't showing).

The next Article in this Series will be excerpts from scholars & experts on the falsehoods of the Official 9/11 Story. Coming soon will be an Article of expert's evidence of ongoing nationwide stolen elections since 2000, with reports documenting machines nationwide switching votes from one candidate to another, which is why we must outlaw nationwide electronic vote machines & optical scan counting machines. California recently outlawed the electronic vote machines (except for disabled) but not the optical scan counting machines. Great news, but optical scans have also been stealing votes. The only votes that matched the original Voter Exit Polls in 2004, the ones showing Kerry won, were votes on old-fashioned paper ballots with hand-counting. The pollster Mitofsky admitted in his post-election report that he changed Kerry's vote in the Voter Exit Polls in 26 States to match the machine counts!! Voter Exit Polls are used worldwide in democracies to detect vote fraud!!

WORLD CANT WAIT the nationwide grassroots group will protest in Washington DC & other states, Info at "Weekend Protests in Washington DC and elsewhere will call for an end to the Iraq war, and the impeachment of Bush & Cheney. World Can't Wait will be calling on everyone to Declare It Now: Wear Orange! Drive Out the Bush Regime! Meet at Lafayette Park, at the corner of H Street and 16th Street. Look for orange balloons and the WCW banner. We'll start gathering there from 8am – noon. Speakers at 12pm and march to the Capitol. Wear Orange & help spread it. Email to join the World Can’t Wait team in Washington. IF you can’t get to DC, have your own protest on Friday or Saturday and tell the press we are outraged at the continuation of the war."

*WASHINGTON POST Article "Week of Antiwar Events To Start With a'Die-In' Protesters Advocate Civil Disobedience" By Michelle Boorstein & Allison Klein Washington Post Staff Writers Thursday, September 13, 2007; B03. "A week of events meant to crank up a national demonstration against the war in Iraq is set to begin Saturday, with a 1,000-person "die-in" at the U.S. Capitol led by current and former American troops and accompanied by taps and a mock 21-gun salute. The die-in will be the culmination of a march and rally. Organizers hope the event will spur people in the antiwar movement to move from protesting to performing acts of civil disobedience that "get in the way of the war machine," said Brian Becker, national coordinator of the ANSWER Coalition, at a news conference yesterday at the National Press Club.

The group's permit with the U.S. Park Police is for 10,000 people, a source said, but ANSWER, which stands for Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, expects tens of thousands, Becker said. More than 1,000 people had signed up on the group's Web site as of yesterday to lie down at the die-in, he said, which is meant to represent Americans, Iraqis and others who have died in the war. Organizers expect the number to double or triple by Saturday. Daily antiwar events are planned from Saturday through Friday. War opponents are scheduled to go to Washington area military recruitment centers Monday to try to shut them down. On Wednesday, "Pentagon Outreach Day," Iraq veterans plan to walk through the Pentagon wearing antiwar T-shirts and talking about the conflict.

Across the country, war opponents are being encouraged to visit their congressional representatives' hometown offices and not leave until someone "gives them an explanation about the war," Becker said. Protesters are to start gathering about 10 a.m. Saturday along the north side of the White House, in Lafayette Square. The official rally will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Demonstrators will march down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol, where the die-in is to take place. Police said there will be rolling street closures along Pennsylvania Avenue. The route will cross the jurisdictions of the U.S. Park Police, D.C. police and Capitol Police, which said they are beefing up patrols in preparation for arrests. Two counterprotest groups, the Gathering of Eagles, made up of Vietnam veterans, and the D.C. chapter of the conservative group Free Republic, also have permits. They plan to rally at 9:30 a.m. on the Mall at Seventh Street NW and later line Pennsylvania Avenue NW between Seventh and 10th streets. At a news conference Monday, Gathering of Eagles spokesman Kristinn Taylor said the group's purpose is "to not allow this generation of America's servicemen and women to be betrayed on the battlefield and at home, as happened during and after the Vietnam War."

But at the ANSWER news conference yesterday, Carlos Arredondo, whose son Alex was killed in Iraq in 2004, said, "My passport says 'We the people,' and we the people are responsible for stopping this madness." Arredondo held a folded U.S. flag in one hand and his open passport in the other. Other speakers included antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan and Adam Kokesh, co-chairman of Iraq Veterans Against the War. The antiwar movement "is far from where Bush would like you to think we are, that we are the fringe.

They are the fringe. We are the mainstream," said Mahdi Bray, executive director of the Muslim American Society's Freedom Foundation, which encourages Muslim civic participation. War opponents have carried out acts of civil disobedience since the war began, but Becker said the die-in will be different because it was conceived by and will be led by Iraq war veterans and their families."

To the Stealth Anons and El G who may very well be one and the same due to syntax similarity who have been attacking RM's articles: You both suck and blow way over the line. You're abusive rather than constructive. Please reread what's at the top of every Add a comment: "Please express criticism in courteous, temperate and constructive terms." You don't like it, don't read it. Others of us do like it and do read it. 90% of us are now Progressives. WE are the New Moral Majority. Get over it. Better yet, get with it.
