Belize is fast becoming one of the number one tourism destinations, thanks in large to its excellent weather, beautiful settings and luxurious offerings. It has many natural sights that draw in people from all over the world, and the more manufactured areas are of incredible quality.
If you do want to visit Belize, then there are many different places for you to visit. Reported by the Telegraph, it has been widely written about and advised, that in this small but varied city, you will see a lot by travelling around a little. Here is what you can look forward to when booking a stay in Belize.
San Ignacio Town
If you like your history, then San Ignacio Town should be near the top of your list of places to visit. From here, you can head out to ancient Maya cities – such as Xunantunich or Caracol. What remains here is incredible, the structures are still of impressive quality and you can learn a lot from the tour guides.
There’s also plenty to do closer to the town itself. You can go horseback riding, hiking and kayaking – there are so many activities. If you’re more interested in the scenery, go and visit the caves of Barton Creek and Actun Tunichil Muknal, or the waterfalls at Rio on Pools.
Perhaps you’d prefer visiting one of the many islands around Belize. If so, we’d certainly recommend Caye Caulker. One of the smaller islands, sure – but it’s nice and quiet, has plenty of nice breezes and is bordered by white sandy beaches – paradise!
There’s also lots of things to do here – particularly if you’re a more adventurous being. Water sports such as diving and snorkelling are incredibly popular, mainly because the Caribbean waters make it one of the best spots in the world. And if you like seafood, you’ll find many of the most delicious, freshest dishes out there.
Another island, Ambergris Caye is the largest in the northern waters of Belize. It’s also the most popular, so if you’re a fan of livelier atmospheres then this might be your best pick. You can reach the island via plane or boat – neither of which take very long.
The biggest attraction of the island is the Great Barrier Reef – not to be confused with that which is based in Australia. It lies just a quarter mile out from the east coast of the island, and so can be reached for the purposes of sail boating or scuba diving.
However, if you’d prefer to stay on mainland Belize – but still want to experience the tropical beaches and luxurious settings – you should head to Hopkins. Based on the south coast of the Stann Creek District, it is considered to be the central hub of the Garifuna population.
There is also a host of beach-related activities for you to get involved with. Snorkelling, diving, water-skiing etc. are all available. But the real reason for visiting here is the unique culture – you won’t be able to experience history like this in many other locations around the world.
If you are planning a trip to Belize, then consider taking a unique luxury holiday experience at the El Secreto, Belize. This secluded lot is the epitome of prestige and you’ll constantly be surrounded by incredible beauty.
