Thinking...Yes, My Favorite Pass Time

Change your thoughts and you change your world.

Sharing some exercises and thoughts . We all have lived through difficult times, and if anything I express is at all helpful, I am blessed to pass it on.

This is an exercise I use to use in some of the groups I ran.

Think about a negative energy that you want to work on...let's say it's anger. Let yourself just feel this and ask yourself...who does this remind me of from my childhood? Okay, sit with that, a minute or two minutes...knowing that face, have their face on it. You are not blaming it on the face, you are just associating. Have the feeling. Then, have your intention be that you just let that energy stay there on that chair...then get up and sit in another chair, with the intention that you just leave that old energy behind. You will feel a completely different energy then. What you will feel is the present that is yours, rather than the energy that is from parents, friends, different places and situations. You can literally step out of the negative and feel instead like YOU...the best part of YOU. You literally feel that shift and it feels like a weight has been lifted.

Often times you will go out for a walk and you see many people out jogging or walking but they still are not really present in the now. They are distracted with listening to music, , answering cell phones, etc...Choose instead to make this a time of being in the presence. Be alert to the trees, the flowers, the plants, the sky, so that you can be aware without too much mental interference. Just be with yourself. This is one of the main reasons I refuse to get a cell phone.

Every time you have a time that makes you uncomfortable, insecure ...this is what we know as suffering or discontent. .So instead of trying to run away from it...you recognize it, acknowledge it and you wish to be free of it .

Breathe it in , instead of running away, eating something, drinking something, taking some pill.

Let it into your heart and you will find that your heart just gets bigger and bigger. So no matter how bad it feels, just give it more space. You just open to it by breathing in and by breathing out, you are clearing your thoughts of negativity. What you are doing is accepting that what has happened has really happened, so that you can release it. Be with it, open yourself to it, instead of resisting it and trying to push it away.

Sometimes if you ask someone how they feel they may say it feels like my whole self is a rock, or like there is an ache inside my stomach, like they are carrying a heavy weight. If this makes sense to you, you will understand how emotional challenges can effect your health as well. When you breathe in, open your arms, and visualize letting go, surrendering . This is sometimes called compassionate abiding. That compassion in this case is for yourself, and will help free your mind, heart, and soul.

When you have practiced this and learn the power it has, you also can include others in this...that you are open to freeing people you care about too, while doing this for your self. A prayer which has great power.

Think about something that you are looking forward to. It could be a vacation, a new car, starting a new job, whatever brings you a sense of appreciated anticipation. The mind does not know the difference between visualizing something and actually doing it. So, you can use this in many ways to uplift your thoughts and life. That positive can shape your day...how you feel when you wake up, how you interact with strangers, manifesting a better day.

Inner space....is what we could also call the stillness....if there is not space, you have not touched your spiritual side. You need to be conscious of not only things...but be conscious of being conscious. this is where peace is...if you are not, you lose yourself in this world, in your own mind,,,,in things.

People tend to forget how important it is to nourish your own soul. You deserve to, so that you can live your best life.

Fiction writers create characters from the bad things creating their distress, and then kill them off. Perhaps your way is less stressful. Good article!

Barb i'm running out of chairs girl! Fifty shades of consternation? You is clever. Hope you didn't look at your watch after that post/ transcript and waxed lyrical shrink like,"okay time is up!" I know you wouldn't because that's the way you couldn't be. But then some women have a depth unfathomable one can only take an educated guess at what they're thinking. Stay cool deep one. :>)

I would say the article is well written in spite of specific topic. Indeed, every one of us has connection with his/her inner world, the soul. And how we think of ourselves determinates our lifestyle and successful. My friend who is a writer always talk to himself when writing “they” discus what he write and how. He taught me how to write your way to an “A” and that was really helpful for me. So this makes sense.
