great sensible post Peter, whether you be a writer and or body builder i would suggest the same applies. As a writer everyone wants instant success sometimeswith minimal effort...same M.O. could apply to bodybuilding for those that want bulk muscle? It's a wonder companies are not springing up that offer to do the workouts for you while the bodybuilder to be flexes the top off a beer and karate chops donuts. What do you think of the myriad of workout machines raining down on TV suggesting you too can have a Chuck Norris body in a week or so without chucking up through the advent of applying serious application? Incidently, a guy who used to work with me built like a bull on steroids used to eat huge plates of boiled potatoes...in fact huge plates of everything. How much significance does the humble potato play in the scheme of bodybuilding? Interesting. Another guy i used to go to school with, i think his name was Joe Misner, was accredited with being the strongest teenager in the world yet he didn't have an enormous physical make-up. He unscrewed a steel lightpost one day at sport. Took about five of us to screw it back on. You've probably seen such people on that American 'superhuman' show hosted by the comic book creator author no doubt. Cheers.
