Should Michael Vick be Michael Sick-O what?

by Lakwyia (writer), rock hill, sc, August 20, 2007

The majority of people who has pets or other animal beings in the household usually are considered as another part of the family. But in Michael Vick's case, he doesn't take to pets lightly at all as a part of his family especially dogs. Some don't think Vick is a total murderer but the courts may feel different if he's guilty of animal brutality. I am against dogfighting rings, of course, on top of having vicious dogs as pets but animals should not be brutally murdered for any means necessary. Michael Vick should suffer the consequences like others who wants to sponsor dogfighting rings at their disposal. If money is needed this badly, get a job with all legal means and you won't have this problem to deal with like Vick may have to face in the end.

It seems that most people are focusing just on the illegal aspects of what Mr. Vick is accused of. It seems to me that the greater issue, is his influence on professional sports and the fans who support them. Personally, I dislike the idea of fans, young and old, elevating sports figures to heights which mere humans are not designed to attain. But since that is common in sports, those sports figures should at least present an image which to some degree, is worthy of admiration. Mr. Vick was "appointed" to be the Image of The Falcons. He didn't earn it nor has he proven that he deserves it, either on the field or off. As for Mr. Vick personally, I hope he gets his life in order. Perhaps when that happens, he will be a better example of what a pro-football player should be. And I do NOT believe that the situation Mr. Vick is in, has anything to do with his skin color. Mr. Vick created the situation he is in. No one else is to blame. If you want to find a truly great Black QB, you don't have to look any further than Donovan McNabb. Not only is he great on the field, but he is a tremendous example off the field. Mr. Vick, let Donovan be your hero for awhile.
