India Forest Services, shortly referred as the IFS, is one of the Civil Services wing of India. IFS belongs to the All India Services Group other than Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS). Indian Forest Service was formed in 1966 under the All India Services Act 1951. Candidates are recruited into the India Forest Services through a competition examination which is held every year at the national level. The onus of administering and conducting the India Forest Services( IFS) Examination lies with Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), an authorized central agency for conducting various prestigious examination for recruitment at the bureaucratic level.

Important Dates -
i.Date of issue of official notification : 16 May 2015
ii.Last date for receipt of applications : 12 June 2015
iii.Date of IFS 2015(Preliminary) Exam : 23 August 2015 ( One Day)
iv.Date of IFS (Main) Exam : 21 November 2015 ( Ten Days)
The Application Form for IFS 2015 and the official notification will be made available by the Union Public Service Commission on its official website only from 16 May 2015 on-wards. It is informed that no other mode shall be applicable for submission of applications except online mode. All the aspirants are advised to first read the official advertisement thoroughly before start filling the application form. Most importantly, the applicants should make sure they have all the information and the documents ready before filling the online application form.

Online application form will be divided into two parts Part-I and Part-II which candidates shall have to complete stage by stage as per the instructions. Candidates are advised that both the stages are extremely important, therefore, candidates should make sure they provide each and every detail which should be 100% authentic and error-free .
Application Fee :
As per the procedure, all the candidates shall have to remit the application fee in the prescribed amount which is about Rs. 100/- (One Hundred only). The fee shall be payable by the candidates in the form of cash at any nearest Branch of SBI or can also be remitted by availing the net banking facility of any of the following bank- SBI or any of its associate banks State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur etc. In addition to that, fee payment can also be done by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit card.
IFS 2015 Paper Pattern:-
As per the pattern, IFS 2015 will be comprised of the Preliminary and Main examination to be held in the successive stages :
i.Preliminary Examination - It is an objective based examination to be conducted for screening & selection of candidates to appear in the Main Examination. There will be two papers of 200 marks each held on the same day.
ii.Main Examination - Main Examination is comprised of the Written and Interview which will be held successively to final select the candidates against the notified vacancies for the recruitment. The written examination for IFS 2015 will be held for a span of 10 days.
