Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct Civil Services Exam 2015 to select candidates for recruitment in various departments and ministries under Govt. of India. Also referred to as Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT),this competitive exam is conducted every year, in two stages and this year it is scheduled to be held on 23rd August 2015 (Prelims) and on 18th December 2015 (Main).

Civil Services Exam 2015- Eligibility Criteria
Civil Services exam’s eligibility criteria is very detailed and is chalked by UPSC which is the governing body of this recruitment exam. Candidates are advised to review the eligibility criteria mentioned below before they apply for Civil Services Exam.
- Aspirant should be citizen of India or Person of Indian Origin.
- Lower age limit for civil services exam is 21 years whereas upper age limit is 32 years. (Age limit will be relaxable as per UPSC norms).
- Candidate must have attained graduation degree from any recognized university or institute.
Civil Services 2015 Application Form- Details
Interested candidates can acquire application form of Civil Services 2015 exam through online mode only. They can visit official website of UPSC to fill up this form. Online application form includes two parts i.e- Part I and Part II. Part I of application form is related to filling form and entering all the necessary details correctly. Whereas Part II of this form will be concerned with paying application fee. Aspirants must note that application request will only be accepted if both the stages of registration are concluded properly.
Application Form Fee- Applicants will have to deposit Rs. 100 as application form fee. This fee can be paid online as well as offline. Candidates can pay application form fee in online mode through Debit/Credit card or Net- Banking. Offline, fee can be deposited via pay-in-slip to any branch of State Bank of India. ST/SC/PwD and female candidates are exempted from fee payment.
Important Note- Candidates admitted to the main examination will be required to pay further fee of Rs. 200/- .
Civil Services Exam 2015- Admit Card
All those candidates who have completed application form in all respects, will be issued E-Admit card by UPSC. Candidates can download it from the official website by entering their Date of Birth and Registration number. However, this admit card must be brought by the candidate in the exam hall. If they fail to do so, they will not be allowed to write the exam.
Civil Services Exam Pattern
UPSC Civil Services 2015 exam is divided into 2 parts- Prelims and Mains. Civil Services 2015 Prelims exam serves as screen test for Main exam. It will comprise of 2 papers of 200 marks each. These papers will contain objective type questions related to History, Geography, current affairs, Indian Politics and Economics.
In Civil Services Main exam, candidates have to write 2 qualifying papers and 7 optional subject papers. Qualifying exam will be of 300 marks each and optional papers will be of 250 marks.
Civil Services Exam- Selection Process
Result of each exam will be announced within three months (tentative) from the date on which exam was held. UPSC will upload the result on the main website. Candidates who clear Prelims and Mains exam will be called for personality test. This test will carry 275 marks. Here candidates will be judged on the basis of various factors such as- General Knowledge, Common Sense, personality etc. For final selection of candidates, their score of Main exam along with personality test will be considered.
