While Chelsea has already been crowned BPL Champions by some experts, League One side Bradford City showed that the Blues are vulnerable on any given day. In a stunning upset, Bradford City stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to shock the mighty Premier League leaders on their home turf. This shows that maybe the Premier League race is not over yet, and it gives some added intrigue to upcoming BPL matches featuring Chelsea.

In this match against a team two divisions below them, Chelsea stormed out to a commanding league as everyone expected they would. After superb goals from Ramires and Gary Cahill in the first half, it looked like it would be just another day at the office for Chelsea. However, the Bantams had other ideas.
After Bradford City stole a goal in the closing minutes of the first half, the score was 2-1 to the Blues at halftime. When the teams came out after the break, it looked like the two squads had changed jerseys in the tunnel heading onto the pitch. Although Chelsea had dominated the first 45 minutes, Bradford City looked much the better team from the opening whistle of the second half.
In the opening minutes of the second half, Bradford City just missed an equalizing goal when Morais’ scorching effort was just tipped over the crossbar on a fine save by Peter Cech. Again, Cech had to make another top shelf save a few minutes later on a booming kick from Billy Knott.
However, after opening the first 15 minutes of the second half flat, Chelsea shifted into another gear to try and seal the win. In the 64th minute, Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah just missed regaining a two-goal advantage for the Blues when his shot hooked just wide of the post.
Even though Chelsea stepped up the tempo and strived vigorously for a third goal to seal the match, the Bantams were far from intimidated. After they weathered the storm from Chelsea, Bradford City soon unleased a little lightning of their own. After Chelsea failed to handle a throw-in, Morais side-footed home an equalizer to send the visiting fans into complete ecstasy.
The best was yet to come for Bradford City. The Bantams’ Halliday was able to notch a third goal for the visitors, and all of a sudden the Chelsea faithful began to dread the ignominy of a shocking defeat. The collapse of their beloved Blues was sealed for good when the visitors allowed a stunning fourth goal for Bradford City in the fourth minute of added time. An assured victory at 2-0 had become a 2-4 defeat, and the team and its fans were left asking questions about how this could have happened to a team that many considered nearly invincible.
In the aftermath of this stunning defeat, the concern is whether this defeat will linger. Now that they are out of the FA Cup, the Blues dream of hoisting four trophies this season is dead. However, they did rebound from the loss with a big victory over Arsenal to send them to the final of the Capital One Cup against Tottenham Hotspurs at Wembley Stadium on March 15.
Though that win was important, an even bigger match looms ahead on Saturday. With a five-point advantage in the BPL standings, Chelsea does not want to lose their crucial home game against second-place Manchester City.
If Chelsea wins against Manchester City, it could signal that their coronation as the BPL champion is inevitable. However, a loss or a draw will make things very interesting the rest of the way. Exciting Premier League matches are assured no matter what the outcome, and tickets are available here.
