2015 NAMM Show-Cole Marcus Trio
Anaheim-The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) is the not-for-profit-association with a mission to strengthen the $16.7 billion music products industry. NAMM is comprised of approximately 9,200 member companies located in 99 countries. NAMM events and members fund The NAMM Foundation’s efforts to promote the pleasures and benefits of music, and active participation in music making across the lifespan.
The 2015 NAMM Show returned to Anaheim Convention Center and adjacent Marriott Hotel and Hilton Hotel, January 22-25, 2015. True to its mission, the NAMM Show had a little something for everyone. If it was music, educational events, awards presentations, combined with networking with music industry representatives and musicians, the NAMM Show was the place to be. This year’s NAMM Show featured tons of positive synergy that you can’t find anywhere else.
I am always excited about the musical event. Music aficionados and I took a break, settled for a change of pace from walking around the Convention Center. We relaxed outside at the Center Stage for a set of jazz by the Cole Marcus Trio. The concert performance was part of the Live Music Sets Soundtrack at NAMM that was held throughout the show, Hilton Lobby Stage, Marriott Lobby Stage, Center Stage between Convention Center Halls B & C, The Venue Stage presented by Pioneer DJ, and the NAMM GoPro Stage on the Grand Plaza.

The Cole Marcus Trio is a local band featuring Cole Marcus-drums, Matt Brohde-keyboards and Max Brohde-bass. They thrilled the audience with their repertoire that consisted of many jazz fusion standards made famous by Billy Cobham and the YellowJackets and a few jazz standards.
Their set list featured the tunes “Havana,” “Stratus” by Billy Cobham with an extended solo by Cole Marcus. They continued with Matiness Idol” by the YellowJackets, “Actual Proof,” “Footprints,” and “Spain.” Cole Marcus played Yamaha/Remo drum kit with various cymbals, Matt Brohde played a Yamaha S90xs keyboard and Max Brohde played a Fender Jazz bass.
The clear, crisp sounds could be heard through several VUE Audiotecnik speakers on the stage. The crowd understands and appreciates every aspect of production that goes into every concert at 2015 Winter NAMM Show.
