The Face of Christ?

Credit: author
images based on the shroud

Science, art and faith converge in the the following images which are all based on the Shroud of Turin.

The following image is a 3-D image of the Risen Christ. from an image of The Shroud Of Turin.

This next image one is the Shroud of Turin overlaid on the Sinai icons.

The small light image is called the Real Face of Jesus and is not a painting but a computer generated image from the Shroud of Turin, as seen on History Channel.

The last, large work of art is also based on the shroud. This painting is beautiful, capturing a strong man with deep, compassionate eyes.Don't think I've ever seen this painting of Jesus. I am not sure of the artist but it is my favorite.

About the Writer

My husband and I raised 9 children on a hobby farm and discovered fulfilment and joy.The very existence of a joyful mother of nine children seems to confound people. My writing is humourous and heart warming/ thoughtful and thought provoking with a strong current of spirituality running through it.

Melanie I have watched a couple of docos on the 'shroud of Turin's authenticity.' I just had a quick look at a site, D M Murdock's 'Achrara S' "is the shroud of Turin real?" I believe the author goes a bit overboard on the critique of same.To not believe in something like religion, to me, or at least the lowest common denominator of 'something' is a bit like someone saying? "belief has no beginning but we at least know there's an end." But does the end perpetuate an unfathomable guesstimate beginning from which there is no end? All I know girl is that if as a result of your religion/beliefs you are the mother/person you have become then please send me a case full of same...oh,and they are nice photos of God? Question is to be or not to be real is just a thread of the overall picture although important but not as important as what YOUR religion is to you and you don't try to cram it down people's throats. Cheers Melanie, hope all is well on your side of the fence. For isn't belief or hope in something of merit what life is about? People may rush about seemingly oblivious of religion me included but every time you smile or ask someone if they're okay...isn't that a fine thread to weave /shroud around...coming from maybe not Turin...but...within?

Melanie, I did the last picture. It is actually the overlay of 7 different pictures based on the Shroud. I made it on photoshop.
