Use social media.Although there are a lot of people who use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay in touch with family members and friends or to keep up with their favorite celebrities, it's also a great marketing tool for business owners. Not only can you get the news out about your product or services but it's a great way to reach out to your customers with surveys and giveaways too. And everybody loves a good giveaway!

Email a monthly newsletter (with discounts).Something that you can do to build up your company database and also send out various coupons and promo codes to your customers is to create a monthly newsletter that you an email to those who subscribe. Customers are always looking for a way to save money and thanks to websites such as Mail Chimp, you can actually send out your newsletter for free.

Create a referral program.Say that you happen to have a company that designs business directory software and you want to get more customers. Something else that you should consider doing is creating a customer referral program. It could consist of offering discounts, implementing a points program or offering prizes to those who refer your business to others who end up using your services.

Remember special days.Although your company is an online one, that doesn't mean that you can't use snail mail. That said, something that is sure to put a smile on your customers' faces is for them to receive a card in the mail for their birthday or even the day that they first made a purchase with you. Loyal customers like companies that are detail-oriented, especially when it comes to them so make sure to put this on your to-do list too.
