guiding our kids

A good joke is worth ten heavy-handed sermons.

There is an old saying that you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar. This adage is especially true when we need insight into our own characters because there is nothing like laughter to sneak past our defense mechanisms. A good joke is worth ten heavy-handed sermons to teach us about ourselves, parenting and to help us understand our kids, no matter how old they are.

About the Writer

My husband and I raised 9 children on a hobby farm and discovered fulfilment and joy.The very existence of a joyful mother of nine children seems to confound people. My writing is humourous and heart warming/ thoughtful and thought provoking with a strong current of spirituality running through it.

yep, there's a child giggling within all of us Melanie, you just have to lose yourself in the laughter and let the child run free outside the sometimes restrictive 'grown up' fence. Cheers.
