Ricky Hatton knocks out Jose Luis Castillo to remain undefeated.

This past saturday the man known as the "hitman" from Manchester,
England defeated number 4th ranked Jose Luis Castillo in what was thought to have been Castillo's toughest fight ever.

The former two time WBC light weight champion Castillo who is best remembered for his memorable series battle with the late Diego Coralles back in 2005 where he lost his title by knock out before winning the rubber match five months later.

To make the fight's event even more controversial Hatton came suited up in to the ring wearing a blue poncho with a mexican sombrero, similar to that which Floyd Mayweather Jr. wore in his bout with Oscar De La Hoya. The attire was supposed to signify a fighter who defeated a mexican boxer as a "mexican assassin".

Despite the veteran history sided with Castillo, it seemed would still not be enough to make up for the (24) Hatton's 4 year youth advantage over Castillo(33). From the start of first flurry of punches it appeared that the speed of Hatton would be too much for Castillo to handle.

To some Castillo would of seemed to have been a fair oppenent for the undefeated Champ, but through out the fight it seemed that Hatton's willingness to consistently attack Castillo with punch after punch and combination after combination, could not be meet by Castillo's minimal efforts to fight back with combinations of his own. It was then in the final minute of the fourth round that Castillo received a hooking blow to the right side of the mid section that would bring castillo to his knees and relinquish the 43 victory over to Ricky Hatton.

Before leaving Hatton had some parting comments when asked during an post fight interview about "if he had anything to say to Floyd Mayweather Jr. or about a potential fight with Mayweather, (Max Kellerman)" Hatton responded, "I think you've seen more action in these four rounds then you show for value in Floyd's whole carrier". Now with Castillo behind him, Ricky looks forward to bringing Floyd Maywether Jr. out of retirement and back into the center ring.
