The invisible person in my house poem

Credit: anonymous
TRYing something new

A small poem by me about being disabled. The picture represents it as a thief in the night, leaving only small clues as it takes more,

2nd proper poem ever here, go easy on me!

Uninvited, it comes and goes as it pleases

It comments to everyone in my house

We all have been changed by it in some way

But nobody invited it

It makes decisions none of us like, we hate it

We face it every day; we deal with it every day

It decides what we eat and where we go any day

But nobody invited it

It starts arguments and causes friction with us

It comes into our home and rules the manor

It laughs at us as we do what it tells us to do

But nobody invited it

Sometimes we plan an evening but it says no

We all get annoyed but we can’t argue back with it

We are bound by its spell and influences all day

But nobody invited it

Every day we give into this bastard, it ruins us

We fight back but it fights harder, it’s a struggle

We will never let it win but we have to respect it

Living with an invisible disability is always hard on us

It is an invisible person dictating our life every day

But nobody invited it

I am so pleased you are getting in touch with your poetic side :-) If I have helped I am doubly pleased. I liked this and the repetition of 'but nobody invited it' - brought it home with strength. Well done my friend {hugs} xx

Yeah you helped and more. As I said weeks ago, all I could see was random chat with no real direction. But I read and read and got it. I still have a way to go, but it is a start.

Also the picture is important. The picture represents a burgler who comes into your house and takes things and causes anger and other emotions, it is in the finger prints. You know how I like to add an image to a blog.

Thank you Jen.. x
