Interview with author Armando Pazos

A retired officer of the Peruvian Navy, Armando Pazos immigrated to California in the 80s and became a U.S. citizen. Inspired by his passion for history, he began writing fantasy action/adventure for teens and adults in 2002. He is the author of three novels for teens — The Keymaster & the Music Box and The Ghost & the Sailor Chest, both fantasy/action-adventure stories for boys featuring Andy Logan, and a fairy tale, The Blind Princess. His historical fantasy/thriller for adults, Save JFK: A Mission thru Time, featuring time-travelling Secret Service agent Jack Randolph, is an e-book original on Amazon. The father to three children and a stepdaughter, he is married and now lives in New Jersey.

What inspired you to write your first book?

When I finish reading the Count of Montecristo and the first Harry Potter book

What books have influenced your life the most?

el Caballo de Troya, Ben Hur, the Count of Montecristo, who moved my cheese, the Davinci code.

What are your current projects?

I’m working in two projects, the sequel for Save JFK, and another project, based on the secrets found during the Papacy in Avignon and the meeting between Attila the Hun and Pope Leo I that saved Rome

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

Maybe the end, but it’ll be too controversial

What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author?

If I’m serious about writing I need more education, to improve my story telling and techniques

What has been the best compliment?

I’m a natural writer, with creativity and imagination

Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers?

To writers, don’t ever give up on your dreams

What is your favorite quality about yourself?

My persistency

What is your least favorite quality about yourself?

I’m extremely tolerant
