Saturday & Sunday, October 19th & 20th, Artist Brooke Harker returns to The Beverly Hills artSHOW.

It’s a two-day art extravaganza. The Beverly Hills artSHOW takes place Saturday & Sunday, October 19th & 20th and it’s celebrating forty years. Artist Brooke Harker returns to the semi-annual art event after participating last year. She explains, “The Beverly Hills artSHOW is always well put together and aesthetically exhibits a variety of art in a beautiful outdoor setting. I think it’s a nice opportunity for families to appreciate art together as the weekend event is child and dog friendly.”

The past time she participated in The Beverly Hills artSHOW, Harker enjoyed a successful show and received a warm review by many attendees. “One woman told me that she wished she could walk inside my paintings,” laughed Harker. “I invited another woman who attended the art show to paint with me in my studio. Although I knew she appreciated my paintings, she surprised me by purchasing a new painting off my easel that hadn’t dried or been seen by the public yet. Since then, that woman has become one of my treasured friends in LA and is like a sister to me.”

Harker has a way of “connecting with people” and appreciates meeting new art lovers. "Art becomes a conversation starter and a window into both my world and theirs", insists Harker. “As an artist, it is an honor to see a person smiling when they look at my paintings or express feelings of joy or curiosity. I also realize that there is only a fraction of each painting that remains about me after completion.”

Like most artists, Harker is propelled to create the work inspired by her own life happenings, but realizes once the painting is completed, the new owner may see something very different. She continues, “As I know that there are infinite perspectives, the opportunity to connect with a person who is moved by my paintings is like winning the lottery for me, regardless of whether they become a collector or how many times I win the lottery in one day. Every smile is like a paycheck in my eyes…it would be great if somehow I could then buy things with smiles too…but generally smiles buy a state that can’t be found in stores. They also offer little bits of evidence that my paintings are doing their job, and that motivates me to paint more.”

You can find Brooke Harker at Booth #318A Next to the Wine Garden! between Canon Dr. & Crescent Dr.
