Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars. Khalil Gibran

Today a lady came into my life in a new way which I was not at all expecting. I had organized a class in my building to help some of the people dealing with chronic illness.
It is through a program called the Wellness Program which I am helping implement . Two wonderful women are presenting this. Today while going through an exercise the one lady broke down in tears and excused herself and went outside for a few minutes. She came back after and apologized and said she is going through some personal things right now. The class continued on, and again she had started crying and left to go sit outside...I excused myself and said I am going to give her a hug and see if I can help in any way. She proceeded to tell me her husband had said he was leaving, their marriage is over. Now of course this is more complicated and we did sit and talk for a while...I let her know she could call me if she needed . After, I sat down and wrote this, with a prayer on my lips to send her the strength she needs to keep her and her children well. This is part of what I told her...

We need to hold on to hope, faith and trust...please remember that no matter what happens you will be given the strength and courage to face it.

When you are in the midst of something that feels like the worse thing that has ever happened to you, you must find the strength to persevere. With courage you take the next step, looking your demon square in the eye. The reality is that by facing this it will make you, NOT break you. Each time we struggle, we can use it to teach us and make us a better person.

Losing a job, a loved one, a home , a marriage, certainly this is devastating. Your challenge may be a friend or relative that you see is going astray. Possibly an unexpected change, such as an illness that will force you to make changes in you life. Whatever it may be, it can rock you to your core.

Somehow in this chaos you must remember that you will find the strength . As painful or as difficult as it is , you will do what needs to be done, because you really have no other choice. Giving up just is not an option.

Give yourself a moment to catch your breath. Let everything that you are feeling or thinking move through your mind and body. If you feel like you will not make it, then you must reach down into the essence of your being. Scream if need be. After, gather your strength, your courage, your power, the divinity that lives within each of our souls.

Tell yourself this is going to make you stronger. This will make you wiser. You will come out the other side stronger, wiser, more loving and compassionate. It will not break you. Trust yourself, trust life. You will survive and make it through.

Ask for guidance to a place of peace and love. Trust in something larger than yourself. Take it one day at a time, one hour at a time, or even one minute at a time. The sun will shine again.

Barb, this is a well thought article...And is certainly so heartening to note that you are consistently rendering your support to needy people...You are an asset to community where you are living...By giving your support to that lady it speaks a lot about your compassion for others....Keep it up...So proud of you...

Thank you Uttam, I am very content knowing I still can be actively working toward helping those in need. You humble me. I have always felt that the best way to have happiness in my life, was by putting the focus on helping others...it then manifests itself , within yourself.
