27th Annual Long Beach Bayou and Blues Festival

Long Beach-Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler- Let the Good Times Roll. I can't seem to get the following lyrics out of my head. The lyrics are featured front and center in my mind everytime I prepare to attend another music festival. For me, this is a good thing to be having these symptoms this time of the year. The lyrics I'm referring to are "Young and Old;Let's Get Together and Let the Good Times Roll."

Benoit Entertainment Group,LLC extend an invitation to you, you and especially you, to join lovers of all things Louisiana (i.e., Food, Music, Dance, Mardi Gras Parade, and arts & crafts) for the 27th Annual Long Beach Bayou and Blues Festival. I've lost track of how many times that I've attended this festival over the years. This should serve as a testimonial for why you should attend the festival this year. This years line-up makes it hard to decide which day to attend. Why not attend both days, if you are able so that you can experience Joie de Vivre (Joy of Living).

Known as a popular fun, family, friendly event, the Long Beach Bayou & Blues Festival once again brings both the party atmosphere and the food delicacies of a New Orleans Mardi Gras to Rainbow Lagoon Park, Long Beach, CA. for its 27th Year on Saturday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 23rd, 2013. This is a great way to usher in the Summer outdoor Music Festival season. The hours of the festival are 11:00AM- 9:00PM on Saturday and 11:30AM- 8:30PM on Sunday.

The Long Beach Bayou and Blues Festival is an inter-active event that features two stages of music with blues, cajun and zydeco music, continuous dancing on a large covered wooden dance floor, quick and easy dance instructions for all ages led by Karen Redding, A.J. You must partake of the Cajun and Creole delicacies offered at the festival that consists of gumbo, crawfish, etoufee, hush puppies, red beans and rice, and other dishes, plus coffee and some killer desserts. There will also be a crawfish and watermelon eating contest for the entire family.( I told you that this was an inter-active event).

The Kids' Bayou Tent is a great gathering spot for families with little kids. The tent has extensive children's activities including costume making, mask and umbrellas for the Mardi Gras Parade, arts and crafts, storytelling, magic, sing-a-longs, kids' show and more. The Teen Corner has games and activities for older kids.

Headlining the Blues Stage on Saturday is Peter Tork & Shoe Suede Blues. Peter Tork is well know as a member of the Monkees. The Monkees are also touring this summer and beyond. Also performing on the Blues Stage are Sai Whatt Band, Sweet Baby J'ai, Blue Dice and Bernie Pearl.
