Helping A Little Boy

Sometimes, throughout our lives, our priorities may change.

While taking a vandalism report at an elementary school, an officer was interrupted by a little boy about six years old.

Looking up and down at his uniform, he asked, “Are you a cop?”

“Yes,” he replied and continued writing the report.

“My mother said if I ever needed help I should ask the police. Is that right?”

“Yes, that’s right,” he told him.

“Well, then,” he said as he extended his foot towards the officer, “would you please tie my shoe because i dunno how?”

Out of the mouth of babes coach. Thank the shoe God for velcro straps? Nice to read something with a bit of charm in it. My dad used to tell me that there was a huge celebration at school when any kid got a new pair of shoes back when. Apparently all the kids would pinch the 'new' shoer. As opposed to getting bowled over and getting 'disrobed' of your Nikes these days? That smell of 'new rubber' when you got a new pair of shoes i'll never forget. If you 'scuffed' them your ear was twisted. cheers coach, brings back memories...
