The LA Weekly Detour music festival starts today at 2pm in Dowtown Los Angeles on 1st and Main St.

Beck, Queens of the Stone Age and Basement Jaxx will lead the show, but awesome bands like Peeping Tom, Red Kross, Blonde Redhead and Blackalicious will also be performing for this event. The complete list can be found at http://www.laweekly.com/detour/artists.html along with the set times. If you are only interested in seeing the major bands, Beck, QOTSA and Basement Jaxx will close the festival around 8pm.

Detour is the 1st annual music festival organized by LA Weekly. All proceeds to benefit the charity, TreePeople. TreePeople’s mission is to inspire the people of Los Angeles to take personal responsibility for the urban forest - educating, training and supporting them as they plant and care for trees and improve the neighborhoods in which they live, learn, work and play. TreePeople’s mission reaches beyond the simple act of planting a tree.

The tickets cost $35, and that's really cheap for such a headline. Today seems like a beautiful day, and listening to some good live music in downtown can only make it better!
