Super Bowl XLVII NFL Experience Driven by GMC

The NFL Experience Driven by GMC got under way with Deuce McCallister carrying the Lombardi Trophy into the Ernest N.Morial Convention Center on Wednesday, January 30, 2013.

New Orleans - The weather Gods looked downed favorably upon New Orleans just in time for the Vince Lombardi Trophy Ceremony. The rain cleared out and the sun made a stellar appearance in the afternoon. A large contingent of Media greeted the FedEx truck as the driver arrived by police escort with the Vince Lombardi Trophy to the New Orleans Ernest N.Morial Convention Center, outside Hall B.

Super Bowl XLIV champion and former (once a Saint-always a Saint-WHO DAT!) New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McCallister carefully took control of the Vince Lombardi Trophy. McCallister led a celebratory commencement parade with special guest Saintsations (New Orleans Saints Cheerleaders) and a group of young icons the Augustine High School Purple Knights Marching 100. McCallister carried the trophy from the FedEx delivery truck into its place at the center of the NFL Experience where it will remain on display just before Super Bowl on Saturday, February 2nd. Fans quickly lined up to have their photos taken along side of the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Deuce McCallister and Mark Ingram signed various memorabilia (jerseys, helmets, footballs, jackets, photos and trading cards) for fans. No trip to the NFL Experience would be complete without a couple of strolling Brass Bands to energized the crowd.

The NFL Experience Driven by GMC, pro football's interactive theme park for the entire family, made a return engagement to New Orleans since 2002. The event opened to the public on Wednesday, January 30 and will remain open until Saturday, February 3rd.

The NFL Experience is designed to enlighten and entertain the entire family, the NFL Experience offers inter-active games, displays, entertainment, football clinics led by current NFL players, free autograph sessions by NFL players, a memorabilia show, the official NFL SHOP and more. The NFL Experience is a great way for football fans to enjoy and partake in an electrifying atmosphere of Super Bowl XLVII if they plan on attending the Super Bowl or not. New Orleans Saints players Malcolm Jenkins and Greg Romeus led football clinics.

The NFL Experience Driven by GMC is a workout in and of itself. Covering more than 850,000 square feet, fans can get a good workout while walking around the Convention Center Floor. The NFL Experience Driven by GMC provides visitors of all ages with an opportunity to test their football skills in a variety of fun interactive attractions including: Quarterback Challenge, a passing accuracy game; Run to Daylight, time 40 yard dash, Extra Point kick, a field goal kick game. The kid-friendly NFL Rush Zone offers scaled-down versions of games and attractions for children 3-10 years old and NFL Play 60 Youth Football Clinics, targeted for kids ages 5-12,allowed participants to engage in non-contact action while learning lessons on teamwork from current and former players. A doctors was on hand to speak to the kids about safety before they stepped onto the field for one of the NFL Play 60 Youth Football Clinics. Hellas Sports Construction installed the 29,000 square feet of their premium-quality synthetic turf-Matrix Turf-designed especially for the Clinic Field Fueled by Gatorade at the 21st Annual NFL Experience Driven by GMC at the Ernest N.Morial Convention Center.

General admission tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under, and permit entry for a particular day and time. Tickets sold at the Convention Center box office go on sale one hour before opening daily. Tickets purchased by phone and online are subject to a Ticketmaster service charge.
