A Disgusted “Ewww” When Seeing Parents Kissing

by HomeRearedChef (writer), San Jose, January 04, 2013

Parents/Grandparents Kissing;

Why do our children, young or grown, find it “repulsive” to see their parents openly expressing a moment of affection? They obviously know how they came to be! Mom and Dad were intimate!

They are immediately disgusted and even shriek a “eewww”, “gross” when they see their parents kissing. Do they not know how we felt when we discovered they were no longer “innocent” in ways of the world?

I mean, let’s get real here. I kept my “eewwws” and “gross” to myself!!

I don’t think our children realize how they make us feel every time they utter disgust at seeing us, their parents, hugging and trading spit. Hey, they do it, too! Just because we’ve gotten older and are now grandparents doesn’t mean the action stops! It just means we’ve slowed down in life, but we aren’t dead yet.

I think our children don’t want to get an image of their parents, now aged and with gray hair and wrinkled and out of shape, entangled in the sheets.

But isn’t that exactly what they, too, are doing?

When they got married and went off to enjoy their Honeymoon, didn’t they realize that everyone waving them goodbye knew exactly how they would consummate their marriage, if they hadn’t already done so.

When their children were born, did they not realize that we knew exactly how our grandchildren came to be?

I guess that we, too, could say,”Gross!”

Alright, everyone says, Sex is a natural and very human thing to happen between two people. Yes, well, we know that. Yet we all cringe at the thought of mom and dad joined in a lustful moment. So to our children that cannot fathom their mother and father having sexual relations, I say to them: “eewww” and “gross” to you, too!

And, in all fairness, I, too, “Eewwwed” and said “Gross” when my parents were behaving in that romantic way we have all come to recognize.

Virginia so beautifully and rightly expressed....Strange are the ways of life...But the most interesting part is that we all refuse to be a stranger to our affectionate instincts and gestures...We live with many perplexing behaviours and when we encounter that certainly we too wonder...Knowing this strange phenomena how many of us off load the basic or core gestures of love, affection, desire, lust...I refused to be under the scanner of perplexing is better to be a rebel then to be a slave to invasive impressions...Yes mom and dad needs to join in lustful moments...They are not Tom and Jerry...They are living...Kids are kids so as mom and dad are mom& dad...Life must go on ...

LOL!! Riginal, I think, secretly, they are happy to see mom and dad still able to show affection. It should give them encouragement that not all marriages end in divorce, after almost 31-years of marriage here. :)

Big cheers to you, Amiga!!

Dear Uttam, I just love your saying that we "are not Tom and Jerry." Yes, we are real; people with feelings; feelings that are supposed to grow as we age together.

Thank you, my friend, for your contribution here! :)

Happy New Year, by the way!

I like to think the "Eeuwww!" is a cover up for actual approval!

But it is good to talk about it in this way.

I think I must agree with you, Souschef. That "eeww" is just a disguise. They DO like knowing that mom and dad still like each other. :)

This is very funny and interesting as I so remember when I realized that my parents were I put it together as they had a pattern of going to the washroom after...:-)...I was a teenager then...but it still felt weird to think of them in that that I am an old fart, I see this totally me it is a blessing to still feel passion...a gift from God. So with time they too will look back and be so happy that they knew their parents had so much love between them. I have been so insanely busy, sorry it took me a while to visit. Hope all is well with you...hugs.

All is well, Barbara, thank you. And thank you for coming by. It is always appreciated.

Like I said, I can remember knowing that my parents were being "frisky," though I never saw anything. Teenagers are terrible monsters, and I was one at the time. lol!

Now that I, too, am older (an old fart, lol!), I can appreciate that my parents loved AND liked each other. So I have no doubt that my children really do, too. :)

Big hugs back at you, Amiga!
