Dear Friend, I want you to know you will never be alone...love is unfailing...This poem written to comfort a very dear friend.

Take me to that hidden place in your heart

Deep within where sorrow lingers

The sun does not shine

Still in vastitude

Hope abides

Calling your name

Gently stroking your un-scared heart

Love keeping the embers burning

A pure flame gifted within....

In this clandestine abode

Where you retreat from

All worries, all troubles, all sadness

Let me lay bare myself

To open my soul to hold you

When the pain and weariness

Become too much

Let me transcend this and sit inside

This lonely place ....

I never want you to know

The sorrow of being alone

Pain is fleeting and moves on

Frail paintings etched into our hearts

Let me sit inside this empty spot

With you in this aching wonder

So you never know

Even one moment

Un-cherished, unloved....

Take my hand

I will be there

Always remembering

The beauty of your soul

Washed clean in sweet

Innocence and purpose

I will stay even when we both

Forget why...

I will keep the fires burning

Fueled with hope and love

A sacred place within your essence...

"Eventually you will come to understand that love heals everything, and love is all there is." - Gary Zukav

Barbara, this is so beautiful, and you are so openly caring...! I hope your friend will read this, for she will know that your heart feels for them.

I pray many blessings for you, too, mi Amiga. :)

when we understand how to open our hearts and let another person's pain simply flow through us and release it for them rather than carrying their pain as a burden then love, healing love flows healing Bothe of us at the same time and we do not burn out- You understand this secret!

Thank you Melanie, I like the way you expressed this...That is a beautiful comment and I thank you. I was blessed to understand this many years ago. My dear Mother taught me this...and I have tried to carry on her legacy of love to honor her.

really? that is remarkable. Many women come from a long line of victim, sacrifice, burden carriers

True...many people, not just women ...but then it is not where you come from that matters but where you chose to go and finish...and I have always believed that you can take any negative and use it to create something positive. I guess I will always be a die hard idealist and optimist. It is not that I do not see the other side, I just refuse to focus my energy on it. It just makes no sense to me to ever build on negativity.

An outstanding poem...No expression can be authentic if not spoken with truth of heart...Barb, this poem very explicitly explain that you care for your friends...I am glad the way you are influenced by your mother...The qualities imbibed in you is a reflection of that...There is no doubt love heals...
