Good Morning, Socialism

The American crossroad.

The future of America is now in the sole hands of its citizens.

I woke up feeling sick today; nauseated at the decision recently handed down by once conservative Supreme Court Justice, John Roberts. This week, with a stroke of a pen, America’s financial landscape was drastically changed and placed on the spiraling pathway toward a socialistic republic. It was exactly what our idealistic, anti-business, pro-entitlement, ultra-liberal President wanted. He got his wish (for now). And currently, the fate and future of our beloved country is solely being placed in the hands of November’s elections.

Once again, I’m sick and can’t believe what’s happening to our once great nation. Thomas Jefferson, and the other founding fathers, believe me, are rolling in their graves.

The Affordable Care Act is a lie, a politicians (Presidents) sneaky attempt at churning the wheels toward bigger government, control over everything you do, an increase in taxes (yes, it’s a TAX) once sworn up-and-down by this President as never being a tax, and a definite way of running up our national debt into the stratosphere. Once thought of costing around 650 billion, it’s now estimated by the CBO as skyrocketing towards 1.7 trillion. And if history is the judge of all programs government-run, I can see it costing three or four times these amounts before fully implemented. After all, government is the absolute worst at managing money. It’s run mostly by people who’ve never owned or operated a business, held real jobs, and lived off the people’s money for as long as they hold their offices; career bureaucrats mostly, with no care about balancing our nation’s checkbook. Our country cannot afford this so-called, constitutional monstrosity and it will sign the bankruptcy papers on our nation’s future. But hey, why not go for it, after all, it’s not President Obama’s money now is it? And truth be known, he’s got his millions for life.

Allow me to ask a question here: Can you show any Government-run agency, policy, or project that’s ever come in under budget? Within budget? How about well-managed like say, UPS, Southwest Airlines, or Apple Computer? Companies started from nothing and still profitable to this day. If not, then why would anyone want to place something as important as their health care into the hands of government bureaucrats? Our government has its purposes. But, deciding who gets mammograms and cancer treatments is a complex road better left to trained professionals.

Everybody tingles at the thought of getting something for free. It’s human nature, right? I mean, I’d love for every legal citizen (don’t get me started on immigration) to have a new Cadillac in the driveway and free salary for life. I’d love for there to be truly free health care, free education, free this and free that. Heck, why not go ahead and pony up free housing and energy while they’re at it? What a wonderful world that would be! But guess what: nothing is free, absolutely nothing. Sooner or later, someone has to pay, and in this case it’ll be the American taxpayer, just you wait and see. And when ALL the bills start arriving for Obama’s other policies, democratic voters will be left standing on the street corners, shaking their heads, bumming a free cup of coffee, enjoying their dismal unemployment for years to come, even shedding a few tears asking themselves, “What the hell were we thinking?” And our once great status among the world as an economic super power: GONE. A mere afterthought, like the other once-great nations throughout history all destroyed by greed, and severe mismanagement of their peoples money.

I’ve been entertained, dumbfounded, and saddened this week watching videos of liberals and Obama supporters dancing around believing they actually won something. And I always ask myself: Do they really think this is free? That this President has our country’s best wishes at heart? Don’t they realize when their tax bills arrive in their mail boxes around 2014 for not buying health insurance that THEY will pay for it? That THEY will be FORCED to buy something? Giving the government yet another excuse to come after your money! And what about all the small businesses (the core of our economy) who can no longer comply with these new suffering rules and regulations? They will be devastated and will not hire, won’t expand, and close up shop by the droves because they cannot afford to insure their employees any longer. Again, this is EXACTLY what this President wants: to rid our country of Capitalism and run toward Socialism. He’s salivating at the thought of screwing every business out there because, once again, he wants the Government to control EVERYTHING. In essence, making true one of the famous statements he ran on, “the fundamental redistribution of wealth.”

Obama sees himself as untouchable, indestructible, and the big winner this week. But, like all the other leaders who once felt they had the magic touch and were invisible to defeat, a storm is brewing on the horizon: It’s called the American Voter—The Ultimate Court of Approval. And I believe the elections of 2010 were just a warm up of what’s to come.

Within 24 hours of the Supreme Court’s historic decision, Republican candidate Mitt Romney raised over four million dollars for his Presidential campaign. An enormous amount, and a definite signal of what’s charging over the hill. This week has stirred up an angry hornets nest, and like it was stated all over the news by republican politicians and conservatives everywhere, “a sleeping giant has been awakened.” Hmm, I think I remember that being said after a certain military attack in Hawaii during the 1940’s.

Mitt Romney did the right thing shortly after the Supreme Courts decision. He stood in front of a podium with the Capital Building in the background and said, “America has a choice to make. I you want to replace Obama Care, you’ve got to replace President Obama.” He’s right, and like Justice Roberts stated after handing down his decision, “It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.”

Well said, John. And believe me, the American people are awake now and ready for the fight of the century. Our founding fathers believed in freedom from government, free enterprise, and a land of opportunity for anyone willing to work hard, so let’s get this battle started.

May God bless, and save our nation…

Thank you for being a voice of reason.

You can't fundamentally change how a country works and still have it be the same great country. And we are slipping out of that title fast. When our presidents start apologizing for America's greatness, repeatedly acting like a dictatorship- using Executive Priviledge to maintain secrecy over the documents that Holder will not show to congress while softening our borders and giving away our resources to non citizens, we are seen as weak and loose our hard earned respect. It's good to always try to improve. But let's not forget and take for granted what we have and are. Voters have the power. (for now) You better use it. We don't have to tear America down to make it better. We can get rid of Obama and still bring forth a version of health care reform if that's what the people want. Only this time, it won't be a 2000 page B.S. piece of legislature that our elected officials later admit they didn't even actually read before voting for it. It's not about what good the bill might do. Anyone can offer up a cleaner version of the bill. It's about the underhanded and arrogant way our president and his cabinet goes about making sure they get what they want. And we can't be complacent about this. It's not the American way and we have to have the balls to say it rather than settle for a means to an end as long as everyone gets 'free' healthcare. Which isn't even the reality, but that's not my point. :-)

Thank you, Uttam. Yes, I'm very resentful and angry that our country elected a President who is going against eveything our county was founded on. I'm praying daily for an Obama defeat in November.

Inmyredhead, thank you as well. It's true, we cannot change to socialism and expect to live with the same freedoms as what we're used to. When the full truth of what Obama is doing finally boils to the surface, everyone will be left shaking their heads. I'm planning on doing my part during this election year to bring us a new President. To remain silent is something I cannot do.

Thanks again to both of you!

Very well said, Randy. It saddens me to see America go down a European road. If you want to know your - possible - future come and see our present.

I think your hysteria is misplaced. I think the Citizens United decision will harm American democracy more than any other decision this century. The decision that corporations are people and money is free-speech was brought to us by the conservative justices on the Bench. The Court basically legitimizes corporatocracy, The day of the “citizen” representative in Congress (as envisioned by our Founding Fathers) was a fading relic, but thanks to Citizen’s United, our representatives will all be special-interest representatives.

If you want to get angry…. That’s a good place to start. But don’t expect your representatives (Republican or Democrat) to help you overturn it. They don’t need you anymore! Unless, of course, you can pony up a few million to their campaign.

As far as Obamacare. Do your civic duty and gather some facts and don’t react to Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. You may not like Obama, and that is your prerogative, but let’s not (as citizens) give fuel to Party talking-points that are lies or half-truths. Parroting back political hyperbole doesn’t do our nation any good.

Remember, insurance based healthcare only works if the insurance company brings in more in premiums than they pay out in benefits. In our (healthcare business) system, the bureaucrat is an insurance company case manager who determines what test/treatment is covered. Their goal is not the greater good of the citizen. It’s to maximize profit for the investors. Don’t be fooled. The for-profit healthcare system has plenty of rationing and they won’t insure those who need heath care the most…. This is not a model befitting a great nation!

In retrospect, is Obama any worse than GW Bush? Hardly! Bush brought us secret prisons, torture, wars based on falsified intelligence, USA Patriot Act, Dept. of Homeland Security (talk about big government and big brother coming together...) and a crashed economy..just to name a few sins of our recent past (and their are many). I think you need to take some time to reflect.... a little perspective may be in order.

When the Republicans say that GW Bush was better than Obama, they instantly lose all credibility. GW will go down in history as the worst president of all time. The crap he created will stink for decades! I am still not convinced that Obamacare will work, but what alternative have the Republicans proposed? Nothing. All they want to do is spin, spin, spin and its gets old, old old. Obama is going to get re-elected, because Mitt Romney is a bobblehead with no personality. Is he really the best the Repubs could do? Sad.

My answer to health care is greater competition across state lines among providers, tort reform, and bigger promotion of preventative medicine. A government-run program will be, and always is, a disaster--a huge addition to our national debt.

What does this article have to do with President Bush? News flash folks, Bush is gone, has been a long time. He wasn't the best President, but he did go after those who inflicted great damage on our nation. I applaude his aggressiveness against our enemies. Homeland Security, etc, that's the good kind of Big Brother. Imposing extra taxes, ramming unwanted bills down our throats, ultra-liberal immigration policies, that's bad big brother.

It's disappointing that whenever criticism of Obama comes, liberals always point the finger to Bush. That's because Obama has no other excuse for his miserable failures. The definition of a leader is one who takes blame for HIS shortcomings, not automatically looking to a predecessor and taking the easy way out. Obama does this constantly because he's extremely weak. The last, really strong President we had was Ronald Reagan.
