“If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue. Decide to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge. ~Deepak Chopra~

I left my ego behind today

sent him to another place

far from me

to no longer

fill my mind

or heart

with detrimental fabrication.

I awoke this morning

fresh from a peaceful dream

then ego took over

"oh, I don't want to get up"

"it's too cold out"

"I want to sleep some more"

"don't want to spend the day cleaning"

The voice took hold

stared at me when

I glanced

in the mirror

saying"oh you look bad today"

"don't even think to smile "

"you have to deal with that idiot today"

Ego is still with me

when I get in my car

"dang I need gas,

I'm going to be late now"

Heading to the gas station

cursing under my breath

"stupid idiot ahead"

"driving too slow,

"going to be even later"

"can you just put your foot

to the pedal jerk "grrrr...

I stop at a traffic light

looking out my window

I see a vision of surrender

waiting to clear my eyes

open my heart

embrace the best part

of my soul....

In the park

a baby robin

standing alone

it's mother arrives

feeds it with something

she has in her beak...

My mind suddenly snapped

car behind honks it's horn

EGO wants me to react

and I do

but in a total different way

I said "Get out"

I left my EGO there

it stood apart from me

not sure where to go

scared without my

auxiliary attachment

I said "don't worry"

"I forgive you"

and drove off

into a new day

with promise and

no judgment

no story to tell

Sometimes I pick it up again

but not as often

Someday I will leave him there

permanently, knowing

he is just my imagination

and never will be my friend.

Interesting video on how we all sometimes dance with our ego.

I have been reading A New Earth...Eckhart Tolle... amazing book...and yes I agree, very often people will not be able to look outside of their own "comfort zone" , I too have been guilty of this many times...The video was interesting I thought....
