Running Away

by LaurenK (writer), Sydney, December 22, 2011

The illusion of running away and escape. Breaking far but not free

Between two cities that cannot meet,

Between two paths of an open street

Zig-zag, cross, tag,

My hand in yours

We flee to fly.

Snatch

At that point we grab,

Fingers to mend the tear

Barely a scar

By the visitor's eye

Humbly waiting for the day of escape

Break far but not free

In open arms

Of the key's guard

I wander the side of the safe

Near to the days of same

Sleep and calm

But never peace of heart

"Between two cities that cannot meet...Between two paths of an open street..........................Humbly waiting for the day of escape...........Break far but not free................But never peace of heart...''moments of hope and despair so beautifully you have weaved...I am reading that truth have its parallel too...and knowing this parallel itself is not an end...Because between the parallels lies a void...void of that elusive peace...I am so wonderstruck to read the life of parallels...and the space within this you travelled in your poem...marvellous..keep it up Lauren
