The Beach

by The Truth (writer), , November 08, 2011

A simple poem that I wrote when everything felt wrong, i wrote it because i wanted a simpler life. I think we all do.

The sea is calm tonight.

The tide is full, the moon is high.

Swim the straits over the coast at night,

and watch the clouds lick the light.

We swim to the beach by firelight.

We swim to the beach in the darkest light.

We swim to the beach in the darkest night.

My faith is lost at sea,

the roar is long and melancholy.

My breath stays in retreat,

but the waves still call me.
