Antony once told Cleopatra, “Lady you are the cruelest thing alive, lets meet as little as we can”. Which brings me nicely round to Madonna.
Yes, Madonna got an earful of boo’s from the public gallery last night as she attended the London premiere of her film W.E. She breezed right past the great unwashed without giving them so much as disdainful side look.
And Madonna doesn’t give a chicken cutlet that the critics have also booed her film.
No, Madonna says critics are of no consequence and claims she doesn’t even read their reviews. (Which means I can’t be bothered to listen to Madonna ever again).
‘It doesn’t matter what the critics think, it’s what the public thinks.’
You can read more about this if you take a trip over to the Daily Mail.
Over here we’ll continue with the story of Madonna’s elder brother Anthony Ciccone. That’s him above.
When his younger sister isn’t adopting babies or shaking her pussy bone at the paparazzi then she’s busy tucking her face over her ears and ignoring the fact that her brother is begging for his megre existance on the streets of Traverse City, Michigan.
Anthony Ciccone has been among the city’s homeless for a year and a half now. He says it annoys him that some people are amused to find a person from such a high profile family has ended up sleeping, as he does, under the Union St. bridge.
“My family turned their back on me, basically, when I was having a hard time. You think I haven’t answered this kind of question a bazillion times — why my sister is a multibazillionaire, and I’m homeless on the street? Never say never. This could happen to anybody.”
“I don’t have any income, I’ve got to go collect bottles and cans, do odd jobs.”
“Where do you go at 8 o’clock on a Sunday morning and you have no money in your pocket?”
“If you spend enough time on frozen concrete without proper insulation you will get frostbite, you have no idea how gruesome it is.”
“You get nerve damage. That’s the milder stage, in the severe stage you have tissue damage, that is when you lose parts of your body.”
“I got frostbite on my feet last winter, a friend of mine lost all ten toes. Several have died of hypothermia.”
“You go and find a place to stay warm like the lobby at the jail, or you take a walk to get your feet warm and go to Meijer’s and sit in the lobby there.”
Perhaps in opening I should have said ‘Madonna you are the cruelest thing alive, lets meet as little as we can….’
