Miracle Berries Shame Sugar

mBerry tablets

Miracle berries from West Africa allow a flavor experience like no other, such as turning lemons into lemonade. No sugar is involved!

Sugar has certainly met some tough competitors in the recent years. Some have been less healthy versions, such as sucralose and aspartame, while other healthier alternatives have fought for recognition within the public, such as stevia and more recently, mBerry. Much like stevia, mBerry is low in calories, produces sweetness greater than regular sugar, and has had trouble being recognized by the FDA as an officially approved "sweetener".

So what is an mBerry? MBerry is the company that manufactures the mBerry tablets. These are condensed and dehydrated forms of the plant, Synsepalum dulcificum, which originates from West Africa. Once a tablet dissolves on the tongue, an intense alchemical process has begun. Almost everything consumed seems much sweeter. Lemon juice turns into lemonade. Strawberries turn into strawberry flavored sugar pops. Cantaloupe bursts with never-before-experienced flavor. Wine tastes like grape juice. Willy Wonka would truly be amazed.

Miraculin is the glycoprotein within the fruit that is responsible for the enhanced sweetening. However, the effects are not longstanding and do not apply to everything. Sweetening effects last for about a half-hour to an hour. Sour foods and foods that are already sweet show the most noticeable differences. In my experience (yes, I have tried it for myself), everything fruit and vegetable-wise seemed to be enhanced, but not so much with other foods, like cheese (although the mBerry website suggests you try it anyway).

Experiencing this amazing berry's benefits is definitely within one's reach. An mBerry package will cost you about $15 for 10 tablets, which can be bought online. Thus, for less than $2, one can spend an hour getting excited about a fruit salad or even a health shake. Aside from the personal enjoyment, one can even share the berries with friends and have "flavor parties", experimenting with different foods, or even wines (or juice for those under 21). Dieters and diabetics alike can re-experience the pleasures of sweetness, without the added worry of sweeteners and calories. Goodbye white granulated refined sugars! Nature still knows best!

Those sound fun. I wonder what they do for you before you kiss someone? Will they forever taste be sweet?

On a serious note though, they sound great and I am going to look them up and try them as I have a big sweet tooth.

Thanks for the great info.

This tablets look kind of strange. Is the lighting on the picture bad or are they supposed to be brown-ish?
