Auctions and charity raffles don't have to be boring. There are great little tricks you can use to jazz up your events. So throw away those boring raffle tickets.
One of the hottest trends for event raffles and give-ways is using ten liner strip cards. These cards work great for big auctions, events and galas. It’s easy to create a bonus game to give away coupons, drink tokens, gift cards, etc.
Instead of using boring raffle tickes, use the strip cards for raffles. Sell each line for a certain amount of money (make it easy - charge $5 or $10 per line but make sure you make money off the prize so you generate money for your charity). You can run it the same way you did the bonus giveaway. The name that matches the bonus number wins the raffle item. You can sell a lot of raffle tickets this way and make a sizeable profit for your charity’s event. It makes it hassle-free to run a raffle during a charity event. You could offer great prizes like tickets to a popular local sporting event, weekend getaways, and dinner for two at a special restaurant or come up with your own creative raffle prizes.
Make sure the prizes you giveaway have good value and that you raise enough money from your raffle. Don’t overprice or underprice your raffle tickets and make sure you get your prizes donated especially big ticket items (check with the nonprofit organizations/charities for donation details and IRS rules).
Fun themes for gala and high-end events could be:
1. Food and wine events
2. Seasonal - harvest/Fall, winter wonderland, spring fling or summer bbq/western theme.
3. Monte Carlo/Mardi Gras theme
4. Musical concerts
5. Art (host event in a popular, local art gallery)
Whatever route you take for your fundraising event, look into fun, creative ways to jazz up your events. You don't have to stick with the same raffles and boring prizes and donation items.
