"And may his soul rest in eternal peace".

The words rolling around in my head were just starting to lose meaning as Aunt Peggy noisily parked the tea caddy alongside the arm of the sofa and tilted the teapot over my cup.

"Shur you'll have a warm drop luv, won't you?"

I forcefully kinked the outer edges of my lips ever so slightly skyward feigning relief and said, "Thanks Peggy." and feeling she had done her bit she continued on to the next guest.

The place was full but I felt so very alone as my sorrow sucked me downward and no matter how hard I tried to cheer myself... Read More

The rest of the night blurred by, like so many nights do, when you don't have the courage to look for a tomorrow. I stumbled home with her image emblazoned on my mind, falling asleep, dreaming of angels. Opening my eyes in drunken squints, can someone turn off that damn light? I laughed, of course not, it was the sun greeting me to a new day. I showered off the smell, but the after effects of the night hung on until afternoon. By then, my mind was way ahead of the day, thinking that tonight I will run into my angel again. She left enough of me wanting, to keep my attention. The wolf will let... Read More

The face of an angel. Papa always told me to beware of the woman who had the face of an angel. I'm not referring to natural beauty, but the innocent purity and helpless look that compels men to protect her, regardless of their logic. That's how it was with her, an angel. I should have known better, my guard was down, my heart was broken, my mind was confused, all from going through hell on earth known as divorce. I managed to find my solace, like so many others, at the local brewery, throwing down drink after drink in an attempt to drown myself or lose myself. I was at a low that only happens... Read More

I woke from my sated slumber, a smile on my face. Turning to my queen, I see the same smile reflected in her eyes, barely open from her repose. As I looked at her, my mind replayed images of the night before, the sounds, amazing sights, and most of all, a feeling of being, different. Her words controlled many, soft yet powerful whips that always brought about her will, even when you thought it was your own. Now, it was more than her words. Her body brought a whole new element to my journey, creating a hunger, a thirst, both working together, driving me to feel her touch. Shaking myself from... Read More

Urgently she grabbed my hand, I was still in shock at having handled myself so competently. She knew what she could make men do, her little mischievous smile told me that she was well aware of her skill. Taking me to a door, barely recognizable from years of graffiti sprayed on it, blending it in with the dark sticky walls of the alley, she pushed it open with a nudge and we entered another world alien from that of the putrid alley, but still as foreboding, mysterious. The lights were dim, but gave an ambiance that said, pleasure. She turned, letting her jacket slide off slowly, showing... Read More

The Bulls Head tavern was filled with the same men as it was every night, they just sat about their tables drinking the warm ale and retelling tales and whispers by the fire, the same as every night in this village. Then suddenly thru the door bust a strange man, a man with much purpose about him. His yellow hair was braided tightly and fell upon his shoulders and back, he wore a wolf skin coat that was draped across his shoulders to keep him warm thru the winter’s frigid nights. The door stood open, and swirling snow entered the room from behind this man, wisps of vapor snow were shown all... Read More

The Queen, End Game has been rescinded in lieu of another ending forthcoming. I will leave the ending below for those who "need closure", but will continue to let the story evolve for those who can stand the ride. Peace. * * * * * We shuffled together down the alley, working our way toward a halo of light, a haven of safety, at least in my mind. Leading me this way may have saved our lives, my Queen was wise. I glanced down at her, my life, my love. She stopped me, shock in her eyes, I followed her gaze down her body, the chilled wind blowing her coat to the side enough for me to... Read More
