Lord, I crawled across the barrenness to you with my empty cup uncertain in asking for any small drop of refreshment. If only I had known you better, I'd have come running with a bucket. -- Nancy Spielberg
I doubt if there is anyone who does not on occasion doubt. At least himself. I know the illustration: we don’t think about whether a chair is going to hold us up; we just sit. But I also know that sometimes we just miss the chair altogether and we’re on the floor in pain and it is just there: a chair. A mocking chair.
Rather than admit to doubt, some of us parade in false... Read More
Ever since Al Gore famously invented the internet (Ha Ha), the personal information we all share through our computers keyboards has exploded like the worlds arsenal of nuclear bombs firing off at once. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc have each grown at such an astonishing rate that oftentimes these websites periodically shut down for a while trying to catch up with their increased demand. We all frequently post, like, befriend, tweet and whatever else in an attempt to share and promote our opinions and viewpoints, each vying for that coveted piece of the super information highway.... There's something I would like to share that I usually don't with people. So please, hear me out. I am not a religious guy, or one to get on his knees and pray. In fact, I would almost call myself agnostic in my beliefs, although I do not even follow that to the letter. I think MANY people are in the same mindset as me when it comes to that. But I do respect those who are religious and have that belief system.Well, when I arrived here, on the island of Puerto Rico, I was a shell of a man. Soulless and broken down. I'll spare all of the details, but most of you who regularly read my writings... Read More
How strong am I? I didn't know until I faced death, loneliness, depression, lost a loved one, felt the pain of hating my body, experienced the betrayal of a lover, and wrestled with an addiction. These I have done and come back from, being rewarded with an understanding and compassion for those teetering on the point of no return. So many people on that edge, looking self loathing, rejection, and death in the face. These are the outcasts, the downtrodden, the incarcerated, the elderly, the dis-formed, the dysfunctional, the addicted. I will be a friend, a partner to those rejected... Read More
Yes, humanity actually needs an apocalypse in 2012. All of the great avatars and prophets and cultures, Nostradamus, Casey, the Hopi, Mayans, St. John, DaVinci, and so many others, have told us that we are traveling the wrong way on a one way street. We know that environmental stress causes evolution; basically, adapt or die. The erroneous notion is, however, that evolution is a slow process. We now know that this is not always the case and that evolution can be almost instantaneous. Flip a few genes on and the species as you know it is transformed. We also know that that the term apocalypse... Read More
New Years has a special meaning to me. It’s looked upon by millions as a passage-of-the-baton, a new beginning, a time to remember events during the prior year, and a way of looking forward to making new memories. It’s celebrated by virtually everyone on the planet, and is perhaps the one day which brings more people together as a human race than any other regardless of color, religion, or political affiliation. We all celebrate it differently, and it’s by far, more than just a spot on the calendar.
New Year’s resolutions fly through our minds at warp speed during this week. Most of... Read More
How often have we heard that we used to be better than we are now. Years ago my kids and I spent a lot of time at the Ausauble River. We used to live in Grayling Michigan. I really use to enjoy my children when they were little. I know I should of done more with them during after school projects but my life seemed to be too busy. So my kids and I spent a lot of time together as we walked the raod called Wakely Bridge Road. I would get my blanket and book and lay in the grass and read and enjoy the sunshine. I think about those days so much sometimes I want cry to bring them back to me.... Read More
