Wall Street Journal tech columnist Walt Mossberg wrote today about his difficulties in upgrading existing Windows personal computers to the latest Microsoft MSFT -0.52% operating software, Windows 8. Complications, of course, have advantages from Microsoft and its allies.

As Mossberg’s column indicates, what Microsoft and computer makers such as Hewlett-Packard HPQ +1.45% and Lenovo would really like you to do is buy a new computer with Windows 8. Pretty please.

One perhaps unintentional benefit of complicated Windows 8 upgrades – which cost as little as $40 – is to spur people... Read More

At one level you certainly are right. You aren’t running for President of the U.S. though modelling what Obama did will take your blogging and digital marketing to an entirely new level of enjoyment and benefits that you receive.

In 2008 Obama effectively used social media to help him win the Presidency. In 2012 he used a deep understanding of his “customers” combined with mobile technology to enable him to win the election. The major difference in the 2012 election was that the Obama team had been working for years prior, figuring out how to understand everything they could... Read More

I started working at Tim Hortons in the middle of September. I thought it was a great job and everyone seemed really nice and were good workers. I got fired yesterday (November 2nd) and I can't say I'm entirely sure what happened...

This particular Tim Hortons has 2 managers and 1 assistant manager. Men, who started from nothing, and became the richest on the planet without government help, or intervention; the creators, the ones who started it all, the leader’s who made our country the envy of... The problem is most of the information is estimates, guesses, and just plain wishful thinking. How much of the information in your business plan is rock solid facts and data? Unless you have direct experience with the market, customers, and stakeholders, it’s not likely to be based upon actual experience. In which case, you are simply not ready yet to write a business plan. This... Read More

I started working when I was 9 years old. That is the first time that I babysat. When I was 14, my parents bought a motel. Our house as attached to the motel and the reception/office was off the kitchen. Strangers came day and night. Our livelihood depended on how happy they were, how well they were treated. At 39 years old, I can officially say that I have worked in Client Services for 25 years. Sure I would not call myself an expert but I do know something about client services. In fact, I have worked at developing some standards as well evaluated the services offered where I work.To some... Read More

Owner and Founder of MarketingOnline.com Alex Mandossian emphasized the importance of a Networking Wall in the integration of the website’s ‘Family-Centered’ goals.

In his visit to Rome, Mandossian had seen the similarities among the historical infrastructure of the city towards the goals of his website. In his short instructional video shot in Rome, Mandossian emphasized and compared the Roman Coliseum to one of his website’s feature.

As a historical architecture, the Roman Coliseum was built about 2,000 years ago, grueling different means of destruction and adversaries. But... Read More
